FT/Perm Position - General Manager (Oil and Gas Construction) – Northern CO/Gillette, WY (with funds available for relocation for qualified candidates)
The General Manager is responsible for the entire Operations of the Field Office, including personnel, logistics, equipment, and maintenance. Duties include Project & Resource Scheduling and Planning, Staffing, Monitoring & Reporting, Client Billing, Resolving Issues, while Managing Safety, Quality, and Productivity.
The specific duties of the General Manager include:
· Acting as the Primary Contact with Client(s), Headquarters, and Employees
- Directing the support staff including setting roles, responsibilities, authority, and goals
· Holding scheduled meetings with Key Employees focused on their Project Planning, Problem Solving, Employee Development and Authorizing PTO
- Setting Roles, Responsibilities, Authority, Goals and give Specific Tasks and Direction for support staff
- Hiring, Firing, Goal Setting and Assessment of all Employees and ensuring all laws, rules and regulations are adhered to
- Projecting Field Needs and Capital Expenditures and Communicating those needs to Headquarters
- Tracking of Overtime, Equipment Utilization, Fuel, Tools & Supplies
- Maintaining the Progressive Discipline System and ensuring its enforcement.
- Maintaining DOT Compliance, Logs and the Local Driver File
- Maintaining an orderly and secure Filing System for copies of Company and Employment Records
- Overseeing the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Program
- Overseeing the Preventative Maintenance Schedule for all Equipment and Vehicles
- Holding pre or post-shift meeting to address Client Issues, Scheduling, Safety, Production, Personnel, Equipment, Supplies, Coordination, and Daily Time & Attendance Verification
· Reviewing all Bid Documents/Contracts for Terms, Scope, Drawings, Specs, Change Order Potential and assist in creating Project Proposals
· Assisting with Estimating, Scheduling, Planning and establishing Budgets for Projects and Change Orders
· Tracking all Billable Work Performed, Items and Milestones Completed, and submit for Processing Weekly
- Overseeing all Personnel, Equipment, Supplies, Subcontractors, Service Providers
- Reviewing and Approving all Time, Expenses, Purchase Requests against Project or Overhead Budgets before submission
- Being the Field Office Safety Manager and perform Investigations of Incidents/Accidents/Near Misses, Training, and ensuring JSA/WSI are completed and Policies are complied with
- Enforcing the Safety and Zero Tolerance Drug & Alcohol Program
- Holding Weekly and Monthly Safety Meetings
- Measuring Crews against others to determine Improvement Opportunities
· Preparing, Analyzing and Delivering a Weekly labor report, noting any discrepancies and providing labor hours/cost to complete projections
- Preparing, Analyzing and Delivering a Weekly Job Cost and Work in Progress (WIP) Report including estimated vs. actual revenues and costs comparison analysis
- Preparing, Analyzing and Delivering a Monthly Safety Report detailing Safety Topics, Hazards, Accidents, Incidents, Near Misses, and Property Damage
· Preparing, Analyzing and Delivering a Post Completion Assessment on all Projects
- Preparing, Analyzing and Delivering a Monthly Goals, Objectives, Needs and Issue Report
- Pinpointing and Calculating Variances from Project Budgets and reporting Significant Issues Immediately
- Recommending improvements with Operations, Manpower and Equipment Utilization
Requirements
· Construction Management Degree preferred or Engineering and/or equivalent degree
· Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
· Attained and holds multiple certificates representing a depth of knowledge in their specific profession
· 5 to 10 years’ of Management Experience
· 4 to 8 years’ of Military Experience a plus
· Mechanical Construction Experience in Oil & Gas and/or Petrochemical and/or Power Generation Industry
· Proven management of simultaneous multiple projects with multiple Superintendents of scope ranging from $50,000 to $2,500,000 and within budgets
· Proven leader of High-Performance Superintendents and Assistant Managers
· Willing to Live in Remote Regions for up to 2 years
· Scheduling and Estimating Experience
· Experience with start-ups, fast-growing companies, and large corporations
· Experienced establishing systems, programs and tools to achieve the organization’s growth and reputation goals and increase our competitive advantage
· Experienced with implementation, refining, streamlining, simplifying and improving systems, programs and tools to increase productivity, quality, and utilization
· Understands business beyond their core functions and how their actions impact the entire organization
· Ensures and Follows Chain of Command, Eliminates Chatter, Mandates Accountability, Protects Stakeholders
