APCO Worldwide, a global strategic communication firm, is seeking account director level individuals with eight or more years of experience in corporate strategic communications for its growing San Francisco office. This is a fantastic opportunity to help build a new office from the ground up alongside industry veterans and the support of an established, globally recognized firm that has a 26 year track record of success.
Account directors (senior associates) at APCO are responsible for leading and managing client projects through proactive and strategic client relationship management and effective financial/budget management. You'll both lead teams and also execute upon strategic plans to include leveraging/maintaining media relationships, preparing strategic communications plans, leading client meetings, serving as day-to-day client contact, managing staff, participating in business development activities, and providing excellent client service.
Qualified candidates will have BA/BS degree and eight or more years of relevant agency-based or in-house corporate communications experience. Well rounded experience with global or big consumer brands and corporate affairs across a variety of accounts is required. You should also have demonstrated project and financial management skills, traditional and new media relations experience with a broad range of media relationships, and strong written/verbal communications skills. Candidates should be self-motivated, committed to the highest standards of quality and able to work well with teams.
