Software Support Engineer

We are looking for a Software Support Engineer to support our business rules engine.
This is an entry-to mid -level position in a fast-paced, high-profile start up environment. This position calls for a professional yet energetic team player who can also work independently and responsibly with minimal supervision.
You must have passion for making customers happy and solving their problems; the communication skills to clearly and concisely respond to customer inquiries; and a real passion for technology with a great attitude for product advancement.
This is a small and highly leveraged team where self-motivation and efficiency are key.
Responsibilities
Expand and maintain our vendor support (1,000+) via our core parsing technology (patent-pending);
Develop and document new in-house products and protocols related to core parsing engine technology.
Resolve user issues regarding text processing or other issues related to email importing;
Continually fix, refactor, and/or upgrade parse libraries and related utility code;
Maintain and add more unit tests to pre-existing 10,000+ unit test suite.
Required Skills/Experience
At least 2+ years of software development or similar experience;
Experienced at using pattern matching technologies, e.g., regular expressions;
Server-side application development in Python, PHP, Perl, or Ruby;
Comfortable working in a GNU Linux/Unix environment;
Understanding of web and web-related technologies;
Familiarity with XML and XML Schema;
Solid development habits and practices
Natural problem-solver and troubleshooter;
Excellent communication skills which includes both written and verbal skills
