Mobile Services Strategy Development Consultant (Palo Alto, CA)
We are looking for a mobile services strategy consultant to lead the development of our technology client's mobile services and applications strategy (both B2B and Consumer services) and product roadmap. The right consultant must have experience in developing and delivering services on mobile Internet connected devices, have a strong understanding of the mobile market, and the ability to grasp technical concepts.
This is a 20 to 30 hour per week; 3 to 6 month project opportunity.
The project goal is for the consultant is to use their experience, industry expertise and network to develop product strategy and offerings, and roadmap that flow from an understanding of user needs, competitive landscape and creative thinking. The strategy consultant will need to address cross-functional relationships and gain consensus between researchers, marketing, and business development.
The Strategy Consultant is expected to:
1. Understand current status of technology, including open source component, key stakeholder positions and organizational constraints
2. Define overall product roadmap with 2 to 4 offerings and feature specification and ensure implementation is feasible within a given timeframe
3. Recommend pricing, with accompanying competitive and cost analysis
4. Test offerings with potential prospects in conjunction with Business Development
Required Skills:
- Experience in developing and delivering services on mobile Internet connected devices
- Network of industry experts in such fields as mobile Internet connected devices and services to test ideas. Mobile device manufacturers would also be useful.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
- Leadership: demonstrated ability to lead and manage consulting teams; an ability to inspire and influence teams to deliver exceptional high quality work
- Working in a highly-matrixed organization
- Developing technical programs for enterprise software applications
- Software licensing and entitlement
- IP networking, network equipment manufacturers, network protocol, security, data center or service provider experience a plus
