PR Program Manager
The PR Program Manager will develop and execute PR plans to consistently communicate company messages using both traditional and new media approaches to secure favorable coverage in magazines, newspapers, blogs, etc. While the PR Program Manager's primary focus will be on technology PR, he or she will also be actively involved in promoting the corporate image.
The PR Program Manager will work closely with other members of the PR team, PR agencies, marketing communications, corporate communications, field marketing, and other diverse internal teams. He or she will:
• Develop PR strategies, plans and counsel that support business group and corporate goals; represent the organization on business unit and/or company-wide projects.
• Collaborate with PR team members and other internal teams to ensure message consistency and pursue best practices.
• Plan and execute announcements, editorial opportunities, contributed articles, customer success stories, and other press-related activities.
• Help create and respond to media inquiries and editorial opportunities by gathering information, helping develop written and verbal responses, and coordinating delivery to press.
• Develop and help foster editorial relationships with trade, daily and business publications worldwide.
• Help coordinate PR activities for tradeshows and other events where media are present, including managing briefing schedules and helping staff press meetings.
• Work with cross-functional teams to integrate traditional and new media approaches.
• Help develop, monitor and respond to social media opportunities.
• Review and edit documents for grammar, flow, content and consistency of message.
• Write technology and corporate-level features for the newsroom.
Duties require ability to evaluate complex scenarios to determine the most appropriate course of action. The PR Program Manager will perform in a program leadership role, having ownership of specific technology segments. He or she will execute projects from start to completion, and should be able to resolve issues in creative ways. Work is independent and collaborative in nature. He or she must be able to exercise sound judgment, as well as interact effectively with diverse work teams using a broad range of approaches to execute programs that obtain results.
The PR Program Manager is expected to help ensure all communications adhere to high standards, and may frequently network with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
Job Requirements:
BA in Journalism (or related field) or BS in Business Administration (Marketing or related field) with at least six (6) years of public relations experience.
Must possess a deep understanding of public relations best practices and working knowledge of multiple related areas. Corporate experience and experience working with outside agencies required. Technology experience required. EDA industry experience a plus. Experience working with overseas entities a plus.
Good inter-personal, verbal, and written communication skills. Able to multi-task, be organized and detail-oriented. Able to work independently and in teams and to interact with people with different personality styles. Good problem-solving and decision-making skills preferred.
