In this position the individual will be responsible for overseeing and managing all logistics activities and related systems information in a manufacturing environment. Duties involve but are not limited to carrier management, freight payment, supply chain services, inventory control, critical parts availability, import-export coordination, shipment of products, and third-party warehousing. The individual will also develop and implement logistics plans, budgets, and procedures to maximize compliance with customer needs within budget constraints, provide financial reporting and reconciliation of inventories, and exhibit thorough understanding of international shipments. Lastly, this individual will evaluate customer support and field service commitments, serving as liaison between peers in Manufacturing, Sales, Finance, and Product Development to ensure customer requirements are met; provides data analysis for logistics planning and volume studies; and participates in process/rating improvement efforts. Assists in developing logistics plans and procedures to optimize systems and procedures.
This position requires a BS/BA degree or equivalent with 7 or more years of related experience. The ideal individual must have proven ability to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment. Self-motivated and self-directed, however, must have demonstrated ability to work well with people. A proven desire to work as a team member, both on the same team and outside of the team. Ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex problems. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
