Director
Job Description
The director is a green journalist or cleantech communications expert who will use their knowledge and connections to create new business opportunities, advise clients and serve as the agency's thought leader on cleantech and environmental issues.
This individual will have a deep understanding of emerging technologies and companies creating them, whether they are so-called legacy companies such as Siemens, Honeywell and GE, or young companies funded by venture capital. The director should have deep roots in the VC community and facilitate introductions for the agency to this community with the goal of generating new business opportunities.
This person will also act as an in-house consultant for clients on how to position their clean technologies and environmental strategies.
In addition, the director will develop a thought-leadership platform that can serve as the basis for speaking opportunities, blogs and bylined articles.
Roles and Responsibilities
New Business/Client Support:
• Leading research, brainstorming and presentations for new business outreach
• Networking with potential clients, business partners or talent
• Consulting with teams in brainstorms and assisting in background research, positioning and execution of client initiatives
• Consulting directly with clients
• Providing introductions for the agency and clients to Venture Capital Firms
• On an ongoing basis, proactively spot new trends, issues, risks and opportunities for the agency and its clients
Thought Leadership:
• Writing and commenting on agency blogs for the company
• Publishing op-eds and white papers on the company's behalf
• Writing guest pieces on other blogs and sites
• Participating in industry seminars, conferences or webinars
• Undertaking speaking engagements
