In this position, the Mission of the ASIC IP group is to deliver high quality, cost effective, Semiconductor Intellectual Property (SIP) to the SanDisk ASIC group to enable the timely development of competitive ASIC controllers and to support the long term ASIC, foundry technology, and NAND roadmaps with timely solutions.

The mission of the Director, ASIC IP Development is to manage the SanDisk global IP development activities that are currently in three locations (US, Israel, and India). The individual will lead the development of analog IP for the ASIC organization and actively manage the staffing, yearly focal reviews, budgeting and planning processes.

The individual will be responsible for the internal development of analog IP to support the ASIC controller roadmap. Primary focus is on embedded power management IP – LDO's, DC-DC converters, charge pumps, voltage detectors, and POR circuitry. Development schedules to be posted on sprocket and updated bi-weekly with bi-weekly status reports to the ASIC group. Goal is to complete all deliverables with 90% per committed schedule. Complete the global alignment of the analog teams in IN, IL, and US and establish a common workflow and implement best practices and well documented development methodology. Generate a 2 year analog IP roadmap for the development of analog to support ASIC programs and update quarterly with reviews by ASIC and PLMs. Drive the analog IP requirements process by working closely with the ASIC organization, PMO, and all of the PLMs. Goal is to have requirements completed with the PMO by the start of IP development. Drive the organization for yearly improvements in productivity, yearly decreases in defects, and to maintain a >90% record of delivery to committed schedules. Responsible for coordinating with the corporate CAD Dept and the other IP groups the planning, acquisition, and rollout of the design tools and flows used in the analog IP development process. Work closely with the Q&R groups to ensure that both internally developed as well as sourced analog IP meet SanDisk quality and reliability goals. Identify, qualify, and manage 3rd party providers for analog IP. Interface with test and product engineering groups to provide timely support for the definition, setup, debug, and on-going manufacturing support. Manage the staffing, employee development, yearly focal reviews processes. Manage planning, budgeting, and expense tracking processes to be able to meet yearly budgeting and expense goals.

This position requires a MSEE with a minimum of 10 years experience managing analog IP development including embedded power management IP. Technical knowledge and experience developing analog IP in sub-nanometer processes. Project management experience and successful track record in developing IP and SOC products. Experienced in setting up and managing global engineering development teams. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Proactive, analytical, and teamwork oriented. Creative, innovative, and open to finding new ways of doing things. Good understanding and experience with budgeting processes.
