Senior Director of Professional Services (11-CM-088)
Description
As the use of whole human genomic sequencing spreads beyond research institutions, Complete Genomics will need to manage and sell special orders, integration, and other professional services in the translational and clinical markets. At Complete Genomics we are looking to set up a unit to manage these services and to hire a Senior Director of Professional Services to start and run it. The unit is critical to Complete Genomics' success.
The Senior Director of Professional Services will have P&L responsibility for the unit. Hiring will ratchet upward with revenue. Consultants and specialists on the team will have experience in life sciences and/or bioinformatics. The Senior Director will first write a business plan and then hire accordingly.
Preferred candidate should come from a unit in a consulting firm or a software company that focuses on customizing and implementing software applications. Candidate should also have wide-ranging experience in managing specials, implementation, integration, customer support, and training. Experience with a software-as-a-service model and with an entrepreneurial environment would be a plus. While experience with life sciences is not required, the ability to learn quickly is. Exact job title and salary will be dependent on experience.

• Experience in managing worldwide teams
• Experience in managing professional services teams in the software world for either a consulting firm or software company.
• Ability to build a business
