Job Description

Position Overview
The Senior Account Manager (SAM) reports directly to the VP of Client Services and is the most senior person on a clients' business and ultimately responsible for the clients'satisfaction. In addition to strategically leading the clients, the SAM is responsible for growing and mentoring more junior account managers. The SAM is a critical role for the agency that comes with a lot of responsibility coupled with a lot of autonomy.

Responsibilities
The following outlines a summary of specific job responsibilities of a Senior Account Manager:

Client Advocate: Overall supervision of client work, ensuring that the CatapultWorks exceeds client expectations while delivering on time and on budget.

Strategic Lead; Strategically lead clients by staying current on industry trends, client's business goals and competitive behavior.

Team Management: Training and supervision of Account Managers and/or Coordinators as needed

Client Growth: Proactively build the clients' business and the account, in liaison with the VP Client Services.

Presentations: Develop, edit and sell work to clients

Financial Management: Track and update the account financials which include forecast and invoice management

Requirements


LEADERSHIP
Big picture thinking coupled with an eye on the details
A SAM is expected to balance both a) exceptional project management skills with b) stellar strategic leadership. A SAM must stay close to the day-to-day details while also leaving time to demonstrate strategic, "big picture" thinking.

CreativeThinking
The ability to seek solutions and opportunities, which may be less than obvious, is at the heart of the Agency's skills base. The Senior Account Manager, standing as the executional / strategic liaison is expected to be particularly well equipped to demonstrate this.

LeadershipSkills
The SAM is expected to lead and present to C-Level, senior level staff. It is expected that the SAM would be regularly contribute to and present creative work as well as strategic proposals, media plans and direct marketing strategies in liaison with the VP Client Services. Presentations should be clear, articulate and confident.

Passion for Results
The SAM is expected to be articulate and passionate advocates for ROI. They should be able to work with peers across other departments to develop strategies which will lead to results for our clients.


PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Process, Briefs and Quality Assurance
The Senior Account Manager is responsible for developing awesome Creative Briefs and inspiring our creative teams. See pictures, videos, articles, products that will inspire an idea? Bring them to the table as "thought starters." The creative briefing is your chance to be creative! In addition, the SAM is responsible for helping to maintain and/or increase the efficiency of the internal creative and production process while keeping an eye on quality.

Meeting Preparation and Running
Working with the VP Client Services, the SAM is expected to develop agendas, set up meetings, keep the meetings on course, develop and publish meeting notes and, ultimately, help to sell work to the clients. They should also input presentations into the theatre and coordinate rehearsals where required--all with the help and support of an Account Coordinator.

Team Working
Helping to contribute to a motivated and respectful team is a key for success for the Senior Account Manager's success. Effective delegation is expected, both downwards and upwards where appropriate. This is the central role in representing the team and clients to the internal departments, establishing effective working relationships, maintaining standards and solving problems before they escalate.

Financial Management
SAM's are ultimately responsible for invoicing, budgeting and profitability –all extremely critical to Catapult's success. The Senior Account Manager should have a firm grasp of Client's budgets and the Agency's income from them. Forecasting of income should be second nature.

Desired Skills & Experience

Requirements:
-- Proven Account AND Project Management skills required in order to create, maintain and enhance customer relationships
-- Minimum 6 years of account/project management experience with at least 4 years agency experience (agency experience A MUST)
-- Heavy B2B technology experience a must (secuity experience a bonus)
-- Outstanding attention to detail
-- Technical competence (Outlook, PPT, Excel, Word, C&P a bonus)
-- Motivated, goal oriented, persistent and a skilled negotiator
-- High level of initiative
-- Ability to work well in a team environment
-- Superior written and oral communication skills. Ability to write creative briefs that inspire team.
-- Grace under pressure
-- Proven leader who is able to effectively manage team and projects.
