Our client has an opening in San Rafael or San Jose -- your choice -- Sr. Product Marketing Manager. This position is a combination product marketing and creative/copywriting position. The official job description follows, but, just so you know, we will be looking for candidates who enjoy the creative process, specifically writing and can provide samples of writing, preferably collateral or advertising.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Product Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for driving the outbound marketing activities for Company's industry leading software products. You will work with the product management team to craft the messaging and positioning for Company's products, and then use that to create timely updates to product collateral and sales enablement materials. You will also work with field marketing and lead generation teams to develop and deliver innovative marketing programs that drive demand. Excellent communication skills are essential, with attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits is crucial.
Roles/Responsibilities:
• Product positioning – work with product management to develop compelling positioning and messaging that differentiates Company's products in the market
• Sales enablement – communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and develop collateral and other tools to support the sales process
• Product launch – work with product management to plan the launch of new products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan
• Market intelligence – be the expert on our clients and prospects, how they buy and their buying criteria; be the expert on our competition and how to crush them
• Demand generation – work with field marketing and lead generation teams to develop the strategy and manage the marketing programs that drive demand for our products
Working Conditions:
Position will be based in San Jose or San Rafael
Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor's in business, marketing or communications
• Pragmatic Marketing training preferred
Experience/Qualifications:
• 5+ years of software product marketing experience with at least 2 years experience in a field facing role
• Willing to travel 25% -- mostly in-state
Technical Skills/Abilities:
• Experience in writing and producing product datasheets and collateral required
• Experience working with software products such as Business Rules Management Systems, Business Process Management, Predictive Analytics, Optimization, or other highly technical products is a strong plus
Soft Skills:
• Very strong written and oral communication skills
• Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams, and third parties
