Director of Member Relations – 4-Month Project with Full Time Option

Member satisfaction is the lifeblood of our business. Do you have a passion for building a great customer service team and exerting significant influence within the company? (This is not a tech support job.) We need a creative, detailed, strategic Member Relations professional to build and lead the membership organization. If this sounds like you, our firm, Matches That Matter may be the place for you.

Matches That Matter is an activity-based service targeting singles over 40. This is NOT an online dating service. Our approach, unique and low-pressure, focuses on assembling small groups of compatible men and women to meet, work together on community projects and get to know each other in a comfortable, natural way.

Because a large component of our service offering involves partnerships with not-for-profits in the community, we're also social entrepreneurs.

The Right Person will:

• Develop and insure the highest level of quality service standards and ongoing service improvements that touch every component of the company
• Create policies, procedures, and processes for the Member Services Department
• Hire, train and manage the member acquisition staff, interviewers and activity hosts
• Develop quantitative and qualitative member feedback mechanisms
• Develop and manage external vendors and partners
• Create and manage the on-site member call center
• Provide so many member testimonials that marketing runs screaming from the room
• Identify additional member revenue generating opportunities

The Right Person will have:

• Served in a Member Relations leadership role
• Zeal to set the "best practices" standards for the industry by establishing a world-class member relations team
• Managerial and organizational expertise
• The ability to address a wide diversity of people, ideas and situations both internally and externally
• Led teams with integrity, friendliness and clarity
• Comfort with membership renewals and up selling
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills displaying tact, professionalism, persuasiveness and follow through.
• Experience working in a start-up.
• Expertise with SalesForce.com

Compensation

We launch in 5 weeks. Come join our team of 6 bright, energetic, high performers as we build the Bay Area component of our service. The national launch will begin in 12 months.

This project will be compensated primarily in the form of equity. All expenses will be generously reimbursed. In an effort to be flexible and engage highly qualified individuals, we also offer part-time work (4 days/week) which will also be compensated with an ownership stake in the company.
