THE GIG
Modern Tribe is growing. We�re seeking the right person to help the management team source talent and triage applicants. This contract position is hourly and will flex based upon staffing needs.
* Review applications as they come in follow up with promising candidates to make sure all information required is complete.
* Review our sourcing approach, document tweak to maximize number of quality applicants.
* Proactively source / find creative methods to reach new candidates.
* Support hiring managers in writing and posting opportunities.
You will be on the front-lines, representing Modern Tribe to team members...in many ways, you are the face of the company.
THE REQUIREMENTS
Only applicants who meet the following criteria will be considered:
* Matches Modern Tribe�s company culture: Happy, Helpful, Curious Accountable.
* Has sourced successfully for project based technical freelance positions (as opposed to full time W2s).
* Operates as a full-time freelancer and has been doing so for at least 1 year (not a full-time employee moonlighting; if you don�t consider sourcing / recruiting your business, this probably won�t be a good fit).
* Has at least 6 month - 1 year of experience managing themselves in a remote, distributed working environment.
* Speaks fluent English and can join us for a weekly review meet during PST.
* Displays a willingness to commit to working during PST, CST or EST time zones (we don���t care where you are, just when you are around so you overlap with hiring managers).
* Demonstrates detail oriented, well organized working patterns and a passion for creating stability out of chaos.
* Possesses superb communication skills, a transparent attitude and self-confidence.
Huge bonus points awarded to those who:
* Have experience in the WordPress / Open Source ecosystem.
* Have recruited freelancers successfully for agencies.
THE DAY-TO-DAY
You sit down at your desk / cafe table / hammock for the day with a cup of coffee and log into Modern Tribe�s applicant queue, where you see all new submissions since your last pass. After reviewing them and discussing strategy with our support manager Rob about the 2 community support positions he needs to fill, you head out to do some research on where to find freelancers who are both technical and have people skills that would be inclined to do support. You two also brainstorm ideas on how to better reach into Tribe���s 750,000 users to find great candidates.
After you make a list of ideal job boards for Rob���s gigs and you�ve finished your second cup of coffee, you shift over to pick the search for a WordPress plugin developer that Shane needs. You sift through the 66 current applicants, declining the persistently annoying foreign outsourcing companies, and follow up with 8 of the best looking prospects to make sure we have their rate, location, code samples and availability. You book a bit of time for our developer Barry to code review the code samples and let Shane know via the recruiting chat channel that he should have a few people to review by the end of the week.
You check your calendar before the day is out and see that you booked a bit of time Friday to finesse the marketing lead description the owners sent for you input. It is a new position for Tribe and the leadership has been working on getting the right description of requirements in place.
Tomorrow is Thursday and that is family day. You can���t wait to show everyone photos of your daughter���s first time on a boogie board. The team knows you might check email, but look forward to seeing your progress on Friday.

LOAD COMPENSATION
This position is contract with an hourly pay range between $20 - $40 based upon experience. We currently have 6 positions that need work. This is unusually high and often find ourselves go months without needing to actively recruit. This is a short term opportunity that could evolve into a beautiful (although periodic) relationship.
