Job Summary

Robert Half is seeking a Content Marketing Manager who is a talented marketer with a passion for writing and storytelling, and a knack for social. This role plays a key role in the company's overall marketing and demand generation strategy, and is responsible for working closely with Brand and PR Managers to develop and distribute relevant, compelling content that engages our audience and reflects positively upon the brand:

Content Creation Promotion

• Work with the brand and PR managers to determine what content is needed to target various customer and audience personas at each stage of the buying cycle.

• Ensure the necessary content is available for promotion by one of the following methods:

- Request the content be produced by the Content Services team and/or partner with them to develop the content as needed.

- Leverage a comprehensive library of existing company content, and "slice and dice" or repurpose content as needed.

- Create new branded content as needed. Examples – video assets, social media campaigns and contests, etc.

- Leverage outside content marketing or social media agencies, as needed.

• Promotion of content across all company social media channels, CDM and company web sites, as well as the seeding of this content on relevant external web sites.

• Act as a contributing writer for the blogs, as needed. Overall blog editorial management will be handled by blog editors in the Content Services team.

• Assist Content Services in the production of content as needed. Examples – optimized web articles for our content prescriptions, content for native advertising, etc.

Social Media

• Manage the company's social media presence across all platforms, ensure that content posted is engaging, on-brand and performance measured.

• Curate and post relevant content provided from a number of sources, including PR managers, Field PR and Marketing Managers, Brand Managers, etc.

• Grow social media presence by engaging with others on social media channels and using paid promotions to amplify content on Twitter, Facebook, etc.

• Engage our social communities by providing content that is applicable to each brand's audience personas, and refine our approach based on ROI.

• Manage all social conversations, respond to any and all comments from the community, escalating any issues as needed to the Customer Experience or Corporate Communications team.

• Conceive, implement and measure various social engagement strategies, such as social media contests and campaigns, programs targeting specific demographics, etc.

• Ensure a healthy balance of owned and curated content to fuel the company's SEO linking strategy and NSO results.

Blogs

• Submit story and editorial calendar ideas to blog manager, as requested.

• Write two optimized blog post per month for the blog managers of each brand assigned to.

Company Web Sites

• Promote content across each brand's web site infrastructure via landing pages and web copy, ensure all pages are search-optimized with lead routing functionality and performance metrics tagging. Content must be thoroughly cross-linked throughout the sites.

• Organize a robust and ongoing inbound linking effort via all relevant stakeholders (field marketing and PR, brand managers, alliance managers, PR managers, etc.) to ensure comprehensive inbound linking from relevant external sites to our own.

External Sites

• Determine which external web sites our customers and prospects spend time on, and seed and promote content on those sites. Must develop a "universe" of target sites, examples – BuzzFeed, Behance, etc.

Analytics

• Develope a comprehensive analysis of how content performs, both at a channel view and holistically by content theme. (Social media, CDM, company web sites, seeded content, etc.)

• Develop insights and make recommendations for future enhancements and changes to our content strategy based on those metrics.

Qualifications:



• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Marketing, PR, or related field.

• 7+ years' of digital marketing or content marketing experience preferably in the B2B industry.

• Fluency in web analytics tools (Adobe Omniture, Google Analytics), social media marketing applications (HootSuite, Tweetdeck, etc.) and leading social media monitoring platforms (Radian6, etc.).

• Basic technical understanding of HTML, XHTML, CSS, Java, web publishing, Flash, etc. and strong SEO skill sets, including the ability to ensure all content is optimized.

• Experience with Content Management Systems, such as Drupal.

• Search engine optimization.

• Proven written communication skills, ideally with published content, in either online or traditional media.

• A storyteller with an exceptional ability to think strategically and creatively, staying on-brand with tone and voice.

• Exceptional understanding of the blogosphere, social media, e-mail marketing, and how to get users to engage with content.

• Understanding of how content marketing, PR, e-mail marketing and social media interact and bolster the overarching brand initiatives and goals.

• Experience writing and tailoring content for a variety of customer segments as well as brand and audience personas.

• Experience with crisis communications.

• Experience developing ambassador programs or community-building efforts either using social media or other platforms.

• Self-starter who owns his/her own success metrics and is self-motivated.

• Must have a passion and curiosity for new technology in their social DNA, staying on the cutting edge of applicable technologies.

• A highly collaborative person with exceptional interpersonal skills.
