Watermark, the premier organization for professional women in the Bay Area, is looking for a Membership Director!
The Membership Director is a conscientious, efficient and detail-oriented business professional with an exceptional track record in creating relationships through delivering a high quality member experience. The Membership Director must pride him/herself on being a well-organized, effective problem solver with an ability to interact with members, with grace and ease under pressure.
We are a highly visible executive-level professional organization committed to providing our members with valuable connections to our community. Our team is made up of exceptional performers who thrive in a virtual, independent office environment, yet work well as a team.
The Membership Director must possess strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communications and be well-versed in MS Office and Salesforce.
We put on between 20-30 events each year and need someone to oversee member and guest connections at all events, from welcoming guests to greeting members and making connections at the networking receptions. The Membership Director is responsible for follow-up outreach to all guests after each event, inviting them to consider joining Watermark. Our members expect exceptional service and a level of elegance. The Membership Director deals with various personalities with tact and professionalism, ensuring our members are cared for and connected so that they can maximize their membership.
The Membership Director is also effective at providing reports and other membership data and surveys to enable the organization to track the effectiveness of our membership value proposition.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Recruiting new members and growing membership base
- Tracking referrals
- Contacting potential member by email and/or phone
2. Making strategic connections between members
3. Approving members in system within 48 hours
- Following up with applicants who have applied
- Connecting all new members for on-boarding process
4. Scheduling meetings with potential members as needed via phone or in person
5. Connecting with existing members to solicit feedback for our continuous improvement
6. Reviewing any marketing collateral regarding membership and editing as needed
7. Creating any letters or templates as needed for renewals or membership drives
8. Ensuring that follow-up emails are sent to non-members after each event
9. Conducting new member orientation webinars quarterly and inviting all new members to participate
