This individual will be expected to take on moderate to complex projects, initiatives and production issues that originate from our business or from other application teams.  It is expected that this individual will become knowledgeable enough in this domain, both technically as well as from a business perspective, so that he/she can take an active role in owning important outcomes, solving complex problems or directing other team members in doing so themselves.  This individual will also be heavily involved in designing, supporting, improving, and developing data validation and productivity methods and processes within this area and supervising other team members who are engaged in analysis, development, QA and support.

Specifically, this individual will acquire expert-level knowledge of the product suite’s functionality, design, interfaces, reconciliation and validation processes and other important aspects of the product.  It is expected that this individual will become a thought leader and major contributor to key strategic initiatives currently in progress such as the Investment Book of Record project   On a more day-to-day basis, this individual will also be responsible for managing and coordinating production releases and work closely with the product’s stakeholders on release items.

Responsibilities:

·          Work with QA/Analyst team members to oversee and approve their work, monitor and promote quality of output, ensure that projects and tasks are being performed according to standards and in conformity with business requirements, and identify areas for cross training and knowledge sharing among team members.

·          Some specific expectation for this role include advanced financial instrument modeling, writing business requirements and design specifications, representing our team in a senior capacity in several internal Wellington venues, and providing solutions to complex business problems.

·          Establish and maintain effective client relationships and help guide the team in setting priorities for completion of requests or resolution of issues.

·          Manage and facilitate implementation of business solutions aimed at investment process efficiency, data quality improvements and simplifying investor work flow.

·          Oversee the resolution of moderate to complex problems that originate from members of the business as well as related application teams.

Required Skills and Competencies:

·          Minimum of three years of experience in investment industry front office applications or investment management data technologies.

·          Strong understanding of various financial instruments including complex derivative securities.

·          Demonstrated experience in business analysis for medium to large initiatives.

·          Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills is an absolute must.  This individual will need to possess the ability to convey complex concepts and ideas in a manner that can influence important business outcomes.

·          Motivated, agile and able to work independently in a fast paced team oriented environment. Committed to deliver projects on time and overcome obstacles.

·          High attention to detail and strong commitment to quality is absolutely essential.
