As part of Crimson's Channels & Partners practice, Crimson is looking for a marketing leader to advise our client and develop a software pricing strategy and channel strategy to support a major software release for a market leader.
Responsibilities include but will not be limited to:
• Developing and analyzing alternative pricing structures, in particular, those related to major new releases
• Evaluating and recommending bundling approaches and reaching a strategy including how to develop pricing bundles for software modules, high- and low-end software versions, related equipment and overall solutions / systems
• Contribute to and leverage primary research designed to identify, test, and validate / refine hypotheses, opportunities, and key components of channel entry strategy including
o Transitioning company from primarily direct sales to multi-channel, potentially including online and telesales
o Evaluating and educating management team on alternative channel approaches and strategies
o Pricing strategy , revenue growth, and economics
• Tailor best practices, methodologies, and approaches to client-specific needs and goals
• Create a software pricing strategy and channel strategy to drive the successful new release of market-leader's software
MUST HAVE:
• 5+ years experience in enterprise software pricing strategy including assisting with a company's major release / upgrade
• 5+ years experience in enterprise software channel strategy development, ideally including transition from direct only sales model to mix of direct and channel sales model
• 5+ years marketing experience working for a leading software brand in a product marketing, product management, or strategy / planning role
• Experience analyzing and assessing the motivations and goals of potential partners
• Experience developing partner value propositions, coverage models, and economic models that estimate partner program ROI
• Excellent presentation development and delivery skills
STRONGLY PREFER:
• Experience tailoring and optimizing enterprise software go-to-market partner / channel and / or pricing strategies
• Demonstrated experience in pricing- and channel-related market research, competitive analysis, economic benchmarking, and program development
• Consulting experience in the channel and / or pricing space
Location: Northeast US preferred (with off-site flexibility) or ability to travel occasionally
Duration: approximately 3 months (part-time)
