Job Responsibilities
PC and Digital Home consumer electronics are all experiencing revolutionary transformations through the integration of Touch technology and implementation of gestures. Notebook PCs that have gesture enabled TouchPad and new markets such as touchscreen slate devices and digital home devices including touchpad Remote Controls and touchscreen digital media solutions (photo frames, media players) are all enriched through the superior Synaptics touch solutions. Synaptics PC Business Unit is the leader in capacitive touch technologies with in excess of 70% market penetration in notebook PCs and is extending its technologies into new markets. Oversees strategic planning, development and coordination of all outbound marketing communications programs to promote the sale of company products and further the PCBU business and sales objectives. Consults and partners with BU inbound product marketing/management, sales departments, and advertising agencies to leverage web marketing, trade show activity and direct marketing targeted to the PC Ecosystem: OEM, ODM, and partners. Manages the preparation of internal sales and FAE tools, controls BU advertising and public relations projects, and recommends the media best suited to sell specific products or services. Interacts with vendors to produce promotional material. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the group.
Contributes to product strategy definition, requirements analysis, and pricing. Monitors the development of overall BU business plans, assesses market penetration, and product positioning to drive competitive advantage, revenue and market share. Reduces broad concepts and business strategies into structured product marketing plans that are consumer ready, Integrates product platform technologies into a cohesive end customer portfolio. Oversees market research, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs and direct customer interaction. Establishes pricing strategies and develops marketing tools for successful product introductions. Communicates customer feedback to engineering, manufacturing and sales to enhance existing product(s) or product line(s). Leads new product definition and business plans with joint departments. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Required Qualifications
Creative, motivated individuals with excellent communication skills. Strong verbal, English and graphic design expertise. 5+ years PC OEM experience. Skilled in PC technologies & solutions including: Windows/Linux, Internet and Consumer Electronics products for digital home, media & entertainment; PC Distribution and channel sales and marketing experience. Multi-Lingual to interface with Asia customers a plus.
Desired Qualifications
Ideal candidate has an education that includes technical and business & marketing. MBA plus 5-10 years work experience in the PC notebook or consumer electronics segment in outbound marketing function.
