[KITlist] Sr. Web Designer (Sunnyvale, CA)

Synopsys is hiring a Web Designer skilled in digital graphic design, user interface (UI) design, and user experience design. The Web Designer will work closely with a variety of departments to understand and collaborate on design requirements and manage the creative design review process. Artistic ability and creativity are essential. Daily interaction and collaboration with web production and web development teams will be typical. The ideal candidate must display excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to work in a varied, fast paced environment. Flexibility, creative problem solving, and the ability to i nteract with different levels of management and people with different personality styles is necessary.

Responsibilities
• Manage the overall web marketing look and feel and associated style guides
• Plan, analyze, and create visual solutions to promote the communication of web content
• Design web page templates, layouts, and associated graphical elements
• Design and utilize interactive media to communicate abstract concepts and information
• Develop and modify cascading style sheets to support new and existing designs
• Create and present prototypes of user interface designs and diagrams for web applications
• Design conceptual interactive wireframes to demonstrate user interface concepts
• Conduct usability tests to solve problems with interfaces and improve usefulness
• Understand and predict how users will utilize elements of a design
• Collaborate with web production and development teams to hand-off designs for implementation, communicate design requirements, and provide feedback on design implementation
• Analyze web metrics to identify trends such as browser usage, web site user behavior, and mobile access
• Stay current with web design best practices and trends and incorporate these into new designs, Identify and implement new media design trends
• Educate and inform project stakeholders on brand guidelines, and design concepts such as use of color, web page layout principles, and user interaction design
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members to identify needs, evaluate alternative design solutions, and measure success
• Communicate objectives, plans, status, issues and risks to team members, stakeholders and management
• Effectively present, negotiate, and collaborate - regardless of organizational structure or hierarchy; Interact with different levels of management and people with different personality styles
• Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction, manage client expectations effectively, and deepen client relationships
• Resolve issues in creative ways, exercise judgment in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions

Requirements
• Exceptional creative and digital design skill with high attention to detail
• Ability to organize information in a structured way
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital design, and experience working on a top-tier company web site is required
• Demonstrated teamwork and experience working with cross-functional web and marketing departments
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to clearly communicate ideas and abstract concepts
• Expertise in HTML, CSS, AJAX, Flash design, and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) is required
• Thorough understanding of interactive design and user interface design principles
• In-depth understanding and demonstrated experience designing web navigational systems and user interfaces for page templates and web applications
• Experience presentation designs to various levels of management and collecting feedback
• Knowledge of ActionScript 3.0+, web content management and publishing, SharePoint, and Microsoft Visio is desirable

• Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Graphic Design degree or related field is desired
