The Sr. Account Director is responsible for the relationship between the agency and clients, providing strategic guidance to clients and managing the account team's performance. This role provides account leadership, social media strategy and direction to clients, and will lead projects, oversee project plans, timelines and deliverables while ensuring project goals are met and expectations exceeded. In addition, the account director is responsible for cultivating strong client relationships to encourage new and repeat business. As a member of a small but quickly growing agency, the account/project manager must be ready to immerse him or herself in a highly accountable, highly visible role.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Acts as the primary, senior client contact for assigned projects, developing relationships with clients and working closely with them to learn their business and communication needs - Manages teams to deliver on client campaigns - Responsible for client satisfaction and overall client profitability - Plan and coordinate project setup and execution including: o Approve project timeline and deliverables o Lead setup call and distribute project launch document to team o Schedule and deliver projects o Present deliverables to client - Directly manages account manager(s), account coordinator(s) - Responsible for development and implementation strategic project plans - Prepares month-end overviews of current client activities, monthly revenue forecasts and plans for future development of accounts - Seeks out new business opportunities with new and existing clients and plays a supportive role in their development - Reports on campaign progress, problems, variance, upcoming deadlines and client satisfaction to Group Director and Partners - Ensures that overall account revenues meet agency goals - Represents the agency at industry functions and promotes the agency at every opportunity, having full familiarity with agency credentials and specialties - Frequent, regular contact with client to ensure client satisfaction - Mentor to junior team members
Requirements: - Minimum 8-10 years experience leading projects and accounts. Agency experience a plus. - Must be EXTREMELY organized, detailed and accurate - Ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment, working well under pressure juggling multiple projects and deadlines - Responsive to both internal and client needs in a timely, professional manner - Expert understanding of the planning, creative and production processes - Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion - Strong business writing, communication, and interpersonal skills - Proactive, self-starter who can work as part of a team primarily and independently when needed - Project and account foresight - Experience or knowledge of creative and/or technical development process - Highly skilled in building and managing project schedules and timelines - Ability to oversee programs through project lifecycle, ensuring deliverables are met on time - Familiarity and interest in social media - Solution oriented, problem-solving approach - Ability to grasp complex concepts easily - Ability to operate in a systematic and logical manner, with use of good judgment |
