Market Business Analyst Job Description:
The Market and Competitor Business Analyst is a key position in the organization to
Increase Intermec's market and competitor intelligence to drive business/product strategy and decisions. It is a position that requires a combination of strong business/market analysis skills, interpersonal skills, and leadership.
Overall responsibilities include analyzing the AIDC market, developing and establishing Intermec's market model, increasing the market and competitive intelligence for Intermec's core markets and interfacing with key industry research analysts.
This position is responsible for developing and maintaining Intermec's market model, identifying market trends in the industry, and providing market insights that drive business, product, and strategy decisions. This includes research and analysis of new industry opportunities and providing regular industry and competitive analysis communications and reports.
Also, this position is a primary interface with key industry research analysts to improve the relevance, quality, and timeliness of market research information.
Specific Responsibilities:
Analyze and communicate AIDC market information to drive Intermec's business and product strategy and decisions.
• Review and analyze analyst research reports and market information to formulate and establish a common, integrated understanding of Intermec's core markets
• Establish Intermec's market model to align and focus the organization for strategic business development, marketing programs and communications, sales channel development, and sales strategy
• Provide cross-functional leadership to develop more in-depth market understanding and insight to drive differentiation and competitive advantage
• Establish a communication strategy that provides real-time market information, facilitates more in-depth market understanding, and establishes broad market knowledge throughout the organization
• Maintain market intelligence data bases including market size, market share, and projected market growth.
Be the primary interface with key research organizations in support of market and competitive intelligence
• Work with analysts to attain data, information, and insight regarding the market, customers, and competitors
• Provide cross-functional leadership (product management and finance) to provide data and information to key market research analysts
• Facilitate information sharing with 3rd party industry research organizations to gain market information and greater insights
Support specific market research requirements
• Conduct research and analysis of market opportunities to provide supporting information for the development of new products or service offerings and pricing recommendations
• Work with 3rd parties and internal resources on research activities to support business/product strategy development, product requirements, marketing plans, and business decisions
Provide cross-functional leadership for competitor knowledge, understanding, and analysis
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred
• 3 years experience in market/business analysis; marketing or related field with emphasis on market / competitive analysis; or finance experience at a technology-based company
• Experience in a technology based business-to-business environment preferred
• Proven track record of results
• Strong business acumen and ability to analyze competitor's business models
• Strong business analysis, analytical skills, and critical thinking with demonstrated problem solving abilities
• Drive and passion for understanding business drivers and market dynamics
• Strong cross-functional leadership and team work skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization
• Demonstrated ability to establish and build relationships with internal and external partners
• Expertise in Excel and PowerPoint
• Travel <15%
