Job Description:
* Determine material requirements and implement purchasing strategies to achieve company objectives using ERP/MRP as a primary tool.
* Analyze, plan, and manage inventory, service levels and back-orders for key commodities.
* Initiate procurement of all materials to support manufacturing, service, and sales of assigned commodities.
* Improve efficiency and effectiveness of supply chain processes, identifying opportunities for value enhancement and cost savings.
* Optimize lean Manufacturing Supply Chain solutions utilizing best practices such as E-commerce, Kanban, Min/Max, VMI, and third-party warehousing.
* Maintain accurate ERP data elements including lead-time, order policies, safety stock, cost, and other critical order modifiers.
* Build strong value-added relationships with suppliers, and internal departments (e.g. QA, Sales, Accounting, Warehouse, and Engineering).
* Manage accurate open order / forecast data with key suppliers and distributors.
* Resolve disposition of rejected material, invoice discrepancies, and PPV with suppliers and internal departments affected.
* Coordinate implementation of engineering change orders and NPI activity to achieve timely and effective phase in/out of material to support operations as well as ensure on-time delivery, inventory objectives, and cost targets.
* Provide support to supplier development for sourcing, negotiating and administering existing and new suppliers.
* Provide timely and effective communication to suppliers, and internal customers.
* Assist in sourcing new and existing parts as required from suppliers and distributors
Skills:
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment
* Ability to collaborate internally to understand product needs and plans for future product development projects.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with internal customers, external suppliers and fellow team members at all levels
* Ability to work effectively and exercise sound business judgment in a team environment, as well as independently
* Strong, driven individual who can work with limited supervision
* Strong Computer skills and SAP
Experience:
* 5-10 years related experience
* Must have strong procurement experience with a Global Fortune Company.
* Must have excellent strategic/negotiating and analytical/modeling skills.
* Must have proven collaboration and relationship building skills.
* At least 5 years of progressive manufacturing operations experience - APICS certification is a plus.
* Experience in at least 1 full life cycle SAP implementations.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including team leadership and facilitation
* Ability to work within a fast-paced, high pressure project delivery team.
* Experience with global ERP implementations a plus.
Education:
* BS/BA Degree, APICS certification, or equivalent experience.
* 5 -10 years progressive purchasing experience to include strategic purchasing and sourcing experience
