Job Description
Senior consultants provide project/workstream leadership. Senior consultants have deep expertise in a subject matter domain and may serve as a project manager on a project, act as a subject matter expert for a specific piece of a larger project or provide overall support for larger scope projects. Senior consultants have experience or training in a specialty area and provide expertise and guidance for projects and proposals in that area.
Senior consultants understand and can articulate the relationship between clients consulting activities and the organization's successful mission accomplishment. Work involves developing and maintaining productive collaborative work relationships and assessing and responding to apparent and underlying client needs. Senior consultants interpret policies and practices in context of the client's needs and in alignment with the organization's best interests and advise clients regarding decisions that are impacted by laws, policies, and procedures. Senior consultants function with a high level of integrity and independence and participate in policy, service, and/or program development. Senior consultants research, facilitate, negotiate, develop and document innovative solutions to human capital challenges tailored to the requirements of the client and the organization.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
· Leads or works as a team member on client projects as well as internal initiatives
· Identifies and determines solutions to client issues either alone or in collaboration with other team members
· Provide research and analytical support to clients and the firm's team members
· Supports client relationships based on the firm's strategic plan and client/account relationship strategy.
· Provides thought leadership and subject matter expertise on client engagements
· Promotes the firm's brand through defined marketing channels aligned to the firm's marketing strategy.
· Delivers on firm long-term and short-term profitability and financial targets.
Performance Metrics
· Revenue Generation of $100,000 or greater depending on balanced scorecard objectives and defined goals.
· Targeted Billable Utilization of 40-50%.
· Contribute to firm associate engagement to match or exceed "Best Company" engagement levels.
Minimum Requirements
· 5 – 7 years of consulting experience within a professional services firm
· Demonstrated ability to lead projects and fulfill client requirements
· General understanding of the return-on-investment (ROI) of human capital, organization strategy and design, competency modeling, change management, workforce planning and development, and HR transformation
· Ability to identify client value creation opportunities
· General knowledge of federal laws in assigned HR program area(s), demonstrated by the ability to consider relevant legal requirements and implications in proposed client solutions
· Ability to travel up to 50%
· Ability to work independently in a non-traditional (virtual) office setting
· Ability to work on client site, as required
· Ability to function within a group/team via conference calls, web conferencing, etc. as required
· Bachelors Degree
Preferred Requirements
· 8 – 10 years experience related to organization effectiveness including: organization strategy and design, competency modeling, workforce planning and transformational change experience
· At least 3 years experience leading a team or multiple teams
· GPHR, SPHR, HCS, SWP, PMP, or other relevant professional certifications
· Certifications in leading OD processes and tools including 360 feedback, competency modeling, psychometric and cognitive assessments, ICF executive coaching, and diversity
Master's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related area
