VP, Finance
Location: Sacramento, CA
The Vice President of Finance is responsible for providing leadership within the Financial and Accounting Department and coordinates and implements the company's financial planning, strategies, policies and goals.
Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting the "Winning Attitude" Company-wide culture and demonstrating AAA Four Diamond Service Standards at all times.
Exercises management responsibility for all activities of the Finance Department. Activities include oversight of the Cage, Count Room, Financial Accounting & Reporting, Payroll, Regulatory Compliance, Revenue Audit, and Purchasing Departments.
Plan, organize and manage all financial activities.
Establish, develop and implement the company's financial strategies.
Oversee the accounting and financial aspects of the Casino & Resort, the development/implementation, and compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
Create and manage the company's overall operating and capital budgets, internal control policies, insurance and risk management programs, and relationships with financial institutions.
Ensure policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to by all appropriate Team Members and that reporting and reconciliation is done in a timely manner.
Ensure financial accounting system is accurate, efficient and in accordance with professional accounting practices.
Ensure casino's compliance with provision of the California Tribal State Gaming Compact, Tribal Ordinances, Gaming Commission regulations, Cash Transaction Reporting, and IRS withholding and reporting requirements.
Monitors on a monthly basis the financial operating results while making recommendations, as required, for more efficient use of resources and increased profitability.
Coordinates the annual audit with internal audit and outside auditors.
Coaches and develops Team Members to achieve expected goals by maintaining a consistent approachable demeanor and articulates department expectations.
Provides projections and analysis for possible business development ventures.
Manages daily cash flow for the purpose of reducing debt or investment in short term securities.
Requirements:
Must have a four year degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA and/or Master's Degree preferred.
Must have 10+ years Accounting/Finance experience in a large gaming environment.
Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
Proven ability to act as a leader within the casino Executive framework.
Interpersonal competences and presentation skills.
Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
Flexible with daily responsibilities and work schedule.
Strong investigative and problem resolution skills.
Ability to supervise and train Team Members, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
