Title: Global Project Manager
Location: 3+months (renewed quarterly)
Location: San Jose, CA
-The global project manager role is within the Business team.
-5+ years project management experience
-Must have business project management experience. This is not an IT PM position.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES/EXPECTATIONS:
The Global Digital Marketing and Strategy team is responsible for working closely with the Marketing Communications team, site strategists, local teams, to localize marketing launch materials and other Corporate funded projects. Responsibilities for the project manager role include:
Lead localization effort for marketing launches and projects, working closely with the web strategists, marketing communications (marcom) managers, marketing stakeholders, and the local teams (regions/countries).
o Communicate to marcom managers and marketing stakeholders the global launch and other projects (such as Solutions and Product Category redesigns) requirements (timeline, deliverables, etc.)
o Work with the marcom managers, marketing stakeholders, local teams, and web strategists to confirm the scope (number of pages, number of languages, etc.) and requirements of global launches or other projects
o Create and maintain project timelines and project management deliverables. Conduct status/review meetings with marcom managers and stakeholders. Involve web strategist as required
o Identify launch materials components; provide advice on global readiness of content and functionality
o Develop KPIs for the global launch or other projects
o Ensure that the marcom / marketing stakeholders provide content, including digital assets (images/videos if in scope) for translation to the global team according to the agreed upon schedule. Ideally, the content should be in an html format and Flash, video, and image components should be in an xml-based format
o Work with the Global Web team to have the content translated and ready for review by marketing stakeholders
o Work with the marcom managers and marketing stakeholders to review, update, and approve the translated content
o QA the local pages
o Coordinate with the Region PMs to obtain country/language approval
o Work with the country marcoms, marcom managers, and marketing stakeholders to review, gather feedback, and approve the local pages
o Provide metrics for the new pages to validate if KPIs have been met
o Proactively communicate with team members and partners as needed (schedules, issues, status, etc.)
Generate metrics and recommendations for the global web sites (for all areas)
Socialize the services provided by the Global Digital Marketing and Strategy team with client teams. Communicate key projects, benefits, and best practices of global projects and global content creation at staff meetings
Handle overflow projects for Global Web Marketing team upon request.
Be a self-starter and able to work without being given detailed directions
Be responsible for multiple projects simultaneously
Be willing to work with an extended, virtual, distributed team, across time zones and cultural and functional lines
Social and Mobile site experience preferred
Note: Marketing stakeholders include solution managers, product managers, region marketing leads, region web leads, country web leads, and country marcoms. Marketing launches includes global, high-touch, high scale, and self-service launches as well as other client-funded projects.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
5+ years project management experience
Excellent English communication skills, both in writing and in speaking
Excellent presentation skills
Ability to work on a team and independently / virtually
Track record of perseverance, accuracy and thoroughness
Self-starting, proactive, charismatic attitude
Proven ability to meet deadlines under pressure
Experience with internationalization and localization
Familiar with common office/project management tools (MS Word/Project/Excel/PowerPoint)
College degree or demonstrable equivalent in languages, communication, business or technology
