We are currently looking for a Senior Content Writer / Editor to join our growing Marketing team. In this role, you will drive the company's content strategy, write and edit a variety of materials for outbound and digital marketing campaigns, social media updates, and the NimbleConnect community. The ideal candidate will have a good command of both the technology issues and market dynamics in enterprise data storage today, and be able generate content that builds our company's identity as a trusted resource in the enterprise storage industry. You will collaborate with Corporate Marketing, Technical Marketing, Product Marketing, Product Management, Systems Engineering, Customer Support and other teams to prioritize, write and edit the appropriate content, and will help publish the content through a variety of online media. The perfect candidate has tons of self-initiative and instead of getting flustered when there are no guidelines they think cool, this will be fun to build. S/he has a loyal following and is loved by their coworkers. Politics and drama are not of interest and the value of transparency and collaboration take precedence.
Responsibilities:
Drive the company's outbound content marketing activities specifically encompassing website, social media, and demand generation assets
Create, draft, write and edit marketing content pertaining to all aspects of enterprise storage systems – technology, customer stories, industry trends and more
Manage and keep fresh website content and its assets used to drive demand generation
Write copy for our growing outbound and digital marketing initiatives, and collaborate with marketing analytics staff to continuously optimize response rates
Produce a large volume of accurate, topical content to drive our growing requirements for technology backgrounders, blog posts and other contributions to the NimbleConnect community
Write content that's useful and interesting to Nimble Storage�s prospects, customers, resellers, alliance partners, employees, the news media, and the investment community
Write tweets, LinkedIn company page and group posts, Facebook updates, SlideShare decks and other content, specifically targeted to each channel's audience and requirements
Write and edit best practice guides, white papers, solution briefs, application notes, case studies, and presentations
Write and record brief videos on storage-related topics for distribution via social media
Interview Nimble Storage employees, customers, resellers and others to get content for stories, and write them up and publish them in a timely manner
Requirements:
3 to 5 years of experience writing on enterprise data storage, virtualization, and related subjects
Can show examples of taking deep technical content and successfully repackaging into other formats
Ability to write and edit large volumes of high-quality copy daily
Experience managing website content with an eye towards demand generation
Direct experience in storage marketing with understanding of technology, customers, and competitors required; working knowledge of storage and backup architectures and topology (iSCSI, NAS & SAN)
Solid background in technology B2B marketing
Ability to take broad visions and concepts and develop structured plans, actions, and measurable metrics and then execute those plans
Excellent communication skills including, presenting, editing, proofreading, and technical writing skills, as well as accuracy and attention to detail required.
Ability to independently set priorities, operate effectively and drive results without extensive supervision.
Excellent time and project management skills
A fast-thinking, high-energy individual with a sense of humor and ability to work with a wide range of personalities will thrive in this role
Bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing communications, technology, or a related field required. MBA or other graduate degree preferred.
Desired: hands-on experience with Marketo, Eloqua, or other marketing automation platform
