VP, Human Resources
Location: Dallas, TX
The Division Head of Human Resources is responsible for providing strategic leadership to the human resource function for the Division. Through direct efforts as well as through the current HR team this position will provide strategic direction in employee relations and communications, organizational and management development, talent management and safety awareness and compliance. This position reports directly to the Corporate VP of HR and indirectly to the President of the division.
Provides an effective and credible recruitment function for all job levels with emphasis on building and retaining a highly qualified, diverse work force with a strong work ethic and personal accountability.
Provide leadership in the critical area of recruitment by developing the most creative and cost-effective ways of generating high-quality candidates in the marketplace to company. Develop long-term relationships with organizations and individuals that will enhance the talent pipeline flow toward the company. Working with position supervisors and the company recruiter, recruit, interview and recommend qualified employee candidates who can best contribute to the success and growth of the company.
Responsible for advising management to ensure company compliance with all federal, state and local laws related to employee benefits, compensation, employment and training. Remain current with changes in human resource and employment law and manage company relationships with state and local regulatory agencies, such as State Department of Employment Security.
Develops and directs a cost-effective proactive, motivated and professional Human Resource staff that provides exceptional customer service to the company and has senior management support.
Translates the strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational plans.
Develops human resource planning models to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps and develop specific programs for the filling of the gaps.
Areas of activity will include talent management through proper succession planning programs for key contributor and management positions, training and development programs for preparing employees for more significant responsibilities and general business development programs to enhance employee knowledge and understanding of the business of the company.
Oversees Labor Relation activities for the organization and all Collective Bargaining agreements for the division.
Foster a workplace environment consistent with the values and mission outlined by the leadership of company.
Advise management regarding all employee terminations; oversee all aspects of employee terminations for the division.
Give direction to physical plant matters for corporate location, including directing and maintaining health and safety program in compliance with OSHA standards.
Partner with Corporate HR to implement and reinforce corporate programs such as training, performance management and policy administration.
Requirements:
12-15 years of diversified human resources assignments with 8 years in a Human Resource leadership position. A proven record as a strong, competent manager.
Undergraduate degree required, MBA preferred.
Advanced degree and/or professional certifications considered a plus (SPHR)
Knowledge of EEOC Laws, ADA and other State and Federal Regulations.
Proven expertise in Recruiting and Employee Relations.
A strong sense of overall business operations enabling good judgment and participation in senior executive decision-making activity. Ability to make a positive impact on the long-term success of the business.
Manufacturing and Union experience
Thorough understanding of the Collective Bargaining process.
High level consulting skills, including the ability to draw on the ideas of staff and operating management and convert them into meaningful strategies and plans.
Able to establish and maintain excellent relationships and credibility quickly. Creates team atmosphere with internal staff while achieving key objectives.
Able to foster the professional development of subordinates through coaching and feedback on results, willingly able to share personal knowledge and experience and able to move decisively with performance problems.
Unquestionable integrity, credibility, and character with demonstrated high moral and ethical behavior.
An established track record in building a successful and effective human resource function as measured by corporate performance and senior management support.
