Design Marketing Coordinator (fixed-term)
Stanford Continuing Studies program
Job Grade 2P2
This is a 6-month, fixed-term position covering for the current Marketing Manager who will be on leave. The Design Marketing Coordinator will work under the direction and mentorship of the Associate Dean Director, and serve as primary designer for both print and online media.The Design Marketing Coordinator will contribute to the overall marketing strategy and manage content and appearance of the Continuing Studies website as well as schedule the production of email marketing. The ideal candidate will have strong graphic design experience as well as web and administrative skills. Additional duties include: project management, social media, branding, marketing metrics, and budget management.
Specific marketing campaigns that will require coverage during this time are: (Late) Winter Registration, Winter Public Programs, Stanford Saturday University, Spring Registration, OWC Application Cycle, Spring Public Programs, Summer Registration, and Stanford Repertory Theater. For these campaigns, the Design Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for: Creative Design, Email Online Marketing, Website Maintenance Design, Branding, Budgets/Invoices, Social Media, and Marketing Metrics.
Responsibilities include:
* Oversee all creative and strategic advertising campaigns for Continuing Studies Program,Online Certificate in Novel Writing, and Public Programs.
* Design and/or update all templates for printed and online material.
* Design and coordinate production of quarterly postcard to SU staff. Attend press check for quality control.
* Design and manage production of any extra marketing materials needed, including flyers, posters,and postcards.
* Manage email outreach (using Publicaster): execute planned email announcement schedule,manage editorial process for drafting and finalizing all email newsletters, and execute distribution methods for mass email.
* Manage all online advertising from content to design. Implement Google Analytics tracking codes for all online ads to measure results.
* Serve as project manager with outside agency to manage Google Adwords, BING, Yahoo!, Facebook and other advertising accounts.
* Maintain Continuing Studies website by updating content and images.(Specifically the homepage and news section).
* Manage social media identity and coordinate communications on Facebook/Twitter.
* Design and produce landing pages for online advertising campaigns through website CMS templates.
* Manage branding for Continuing Studies Program. Ensure proper usage of logo and style guide across all mediums (web and print).
* Execute quarterly marketing budgets for Winter, Spring, and Summer quarters, with approval and guidance from the Associate Dean Director.
* Approve and manage payment of Continuing Studies marketing expenditures with Program Assistant.
* Manage and maintain all annual contracts/relationships with outside advertising and marketing vendors to ensure all financial obligations are met.
* Review and analyze marketing metrics, including online advertising efforts, email marketing stats,and student demographics.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Design skills are required.
College degree, or its equivalent, in Marketing, Design or related area.
Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop), HTML, content management systems, and MS Office.
Excellent communication skills, including writing and editing.
Detail-oriented and organized with a proven ability to work in a fast-paced and autonomous environment.
Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and originality to develop and implement program goals and marketing plans.
Must be a self-starter, with demonstrated decision-making capability, who is comfortable working independently.
Marketing experience (including ad timelines, traffic,vendor relationships, and managing budgets) is highly desired.
