MidPen Housing is seeking an enthusiastic and organized individual to develop, manage, and produce our employee related events and publications. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred, not required) and 4-6 years of experience in a marketing communications role that has encompassed event management and the management and production of a variety of communications deliverables.

Position Summary:

One of MidPen Housing's top four corporate goals is to be the "employer of choice" in our industry. Working closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications as well as the Vice President of Human Resources, the Senior Employee Communications Specialist will play an integral role in developing an integrated communications plan to help accomplish these goals. This individual will be responsible for executing against that plan which will entail managing and producing a diverse set of employee communications events and deliverables. As this is a newly created role, there is a unique opportunity to help shape it and influence how this role can be most effective. The right candidate will be able to think both strategically and creatively.

Job Description:

• Manage and produce employee events – Town Hall meetings; the Annual All Staff meeting; possibly other events as needed

• Manage the MidPen Intranet (built on SharePoint): produce content for the Corporate News section (various mediums including video); ensure that content managers from MidPen's business units adhere to corporate guidelines and standards; promote its adoption across the company; and ensure that it is up-to-date, relevant and an effective tool for cross-company collaboration

• Produce The MidPen Connection – our quarterly employee newsletter

• Lead and inspire a team of "Communications Ambassadors" – representatives from each functional area within the company who act as the "voice" for their divisions, keeping the company updated

• Develop a communications strategy to promote our Core Values (Integrity, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence) and drive participation in our ICARE Awards Program which recognizes individuals who exemplify those values; Sit on and actively participate in the Core Values Council

• Support MidPen business units' internal communications needs by helping to develop strategies and communication templates to accomplish their business objectives

• Create and produce an Employee Communications Calendar

Qualifications:

• Four Year College Degree Preferred

• 4 – 6 years' experience in a marketing communications role that has included scoping, managing, and producing a variety of communications deliverables

• Excellent writing skills

• Project and program management experience

• Event management – including ideation

• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization and to work with / lead cross-functional teams

• Demonstrates good judgment and thinks creatively to find solutions

• Organized and strong ability to multi-task

• "Can do" and positive attitude

• Graphic design experience is a plus

• Microsoft Office including Power Point

• Knowledge of In-design not required but preferred
