The Sr. Financial Analyst serves a critical role within the Financial Planning Analysis group, providing support to the R&D organization. This role is responsible for providing business analysis, reporting, and forecasting support to business partners. Reporting to the Senior Manager of FP&A, the individual will collaborate with functional department leads to design, implement, and execute core planning analysis processes with an emphasis on business partnering and customer service. Strong financial and business acumen in addition to broad knowledge of FP&A processes are essential to the success of this role, along with sharp attention to detail and strong financial systems expertise.
Key Accountabilities/Core Job Responsibilities:
Manage monthly periodic actual processes, including distribution of management reporting packages, Budget Variance Analysis (BVA), and associated performance analytics
Develop financial plans and forecast spending. Prepare packages for management review
Develop strong partnership with business and Finance leadership and provide insights into key trends and drivers
Proactively identify areas of improvement and lead initiatives to recommend and implement change
Provide ad-hoc analysis and project support as required
Strong interpersonal skills to work with other members of the team and should be able to communicate successfully
Prioritize competing assignments and meet multiple deadlines. Ensure SOX compliance.
Summarize extensive data accurately
Dedicated, responsible, hardworking team player
Organized and attentive to detail. Result oriented
Desired Skills and Experience:
Education Requirements: (degree, certifications, etc.): Include must have and preferred
BS degree in Finance or Accounting
MBA preferred
4+ years experience in FP&A or similar function.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Strong collaborative style of working with business partners, accounting and other functional groups
Expert level of proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and financial reporting tools
Ability to operate under general guidance and exercise sound judgment on day-to-day operations
