Project Manager III projects, performs business and systems analysis and carries out planning for an array of application development, strategic planning and infrastructure initiatives. 7 years of PM experience with large, complex, multi-dimensional projects is required. A clear and concise resume relevant to the 7 years experience must be submitted. Key person with more than 10 years experience in related field will have preference.

This position will make decisions regarding project scope, project feasibility, project timelines, project staffing, outsourcing, software development, design and technical service delivery, and system architecture.
The duties include: scope and resource planning; activity definition, sequencing, and duration estimating; developing and managing project budgets; team development; managing schedules and time lines; reporting progress; reporting status of deliverables; and coordination and oversight of all project resources including ITS staff, agency customers and contract personnel.
The following is a list of Project Manager III responsibilities:
Project Management:
• Provides leadership for large, complex, enterprise-wide information technology projects in support of the OED. These projects can involve multiple state agencies and can involve the management of large contracts with external service providers.
• Defines, manages and controls all identified project management tasks.
• Identifies and manages agency business requirements to the satisfaction of clients.
• Project communications; coordination with the project sponsor; coordination with other project managers and coordinators to ensure that project resources are effectively and efficiently used; and, full responsibility for scope management, change control, issues logs, testing, risk identification and management, quality assurance, and verification and validation of new system.
• Develop project artifacts as per PMBOK standards and as defined by the PMO Manager including work objects and a weekly status report.
• Analyzes, plans, and organizes projects and priorities while managing multiple
tasks; displays strong customer service skills; provides and recommends solutions.
• Develops and maintains effective working relations with other departments, divisions, and personnel with whom work must be coordinated or interfaced.
• Maintains knowledge of state-of-the-art technologies and innovations through training, professional journals and publications, contact with other Information Systems and Project Management professionals, and self-initiated study. The PM III attends training and other developmental activity, reviews technical journals and relevant literature to stay current with technology and trends, reports technology advancement and trends to section manager and staff, and recommends ways to utilize appropriate technologies to maximize future organizational benefits. Interfaces with other state agencies and external organizations in order to maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies.
