Job Summary
Robert Half is seeking an Absence Management Specialist who will work closely with the Benefits management to ensure the company-sponsored leave of absence, disability and time-off programs are administered according to applicable regulations, policies and procedures.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Review escalated LOA inquiries and communicate resolution to stakeholders. Lead and provide guidance to Benefits Coordinators on policies and processes.
• Make recommendations for process improvements and work with internal and external partners for implementation.
• Educate and advise managers and employees on LOA policies, practices, and processes.
• Work with manager to create, implement, and update policies, FAQ, check lists, training presentations and other related communication materials to enhance customers' understanding of the programs.
• Initiate and implement improvements to help streamline processes and gain operational efficiency.
• Research, analyze, evaluate and make recommendations for LOA changes using internal data, market trends and best practices.
• Address complex issues on LOA policies, processes, and ADA accommodations. Analyze time-off policy and competitiveness and disability experience to identify gaps and recommend changes.
• Ensure documentation of LOA policies, processes, and procedures are available and kept current.
• Monitor vendor performance. Investigate and identify gaps in services and address issues with third party administrators (TPA) or carriers to improve quality and customer satisfaction.
• Lead cross-functional efforts with vendors and internal partners such as Legal, HR, IT, to drive results on special projects such as implementing local sick leave laws, improving system functionality, enhancement to system administration and integrations.
• Participate in various communication and education initiatives.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor���s degree.
• 5+ years' of Leave of Absence experience required.
• Working experience in both Corporate environment and LOA TPA is a plus.
• Subject matter expert in absence management policies and regulations (FMLA, CFRA, ADA, OFLA, WFLA, Military, etc.). Keep abreast with new laws and communicate impact to the department.
• Detail oriented and able to handle complex issues such as interactive process and accommodations.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (including Outlook), PeopleSoft and ADP Preferred.
• Excellent customer service.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and consultative skills.
• Exercises good judgment with confidential issues.
• Team player.
