Title: Marketing Ops Project Manager
Location: San Jose, CA
Contract: 6+months (renewed quarterly)
Job Description: This job consists of operations and budget planning support for several teams within the GMCC Product & Solutions Marketing organization. This position within the Operations Team requires collaboration with the Product & Solutions Marketing leadership teams to review, manage and assess requirements for all budget efforts. This position is the key interface from supported organizations into the Operations team.
The candidate will work cross-functionally with peers in Procurement, Marketing, Finance and AP to build and refine processes to increase efficiencies. The Operations Team drives cross functional projects to gain efficiencies in the budget planning/procurement process. Key partners in this process will include Finance, Global Procurement, Global Spend Management and other operational teams as necessary. The candidate will also work on other special projects, as assigned. Other responsibilities include:
- Define and drive process improvements through organization
- Provide analysis and reporting to support operations reviews
- Drive budget planning related processes through supported teams
- Provide business planning assistance, periodic measurements of effectiveness, and facilitate efforts to optimize operational efficiency through business process definition and re-engineering
- Manage the design and implementation of business processes ensuring that business initiatives align with strategy
Skills Required
- 6-8 years experience in Operations or Finance role
Strong analytic and problem-solving skills plus a good understanding of how systems and applications work
Able to develop strategies and solutions that align to ´the bigger picture´
Good communication skills and the ability to convey the key points of complex topics in a concise manner
Able to work with a geographically-distributed team and other remote groups
Collaboration and teamwork skills; must be comfortable working with contractors, individual contributors and senior management and with virtual and cross-organizational teams
Able to prioritize multiple requests and work under tight deadlines
Able to work independently with preset objectives and goals
Background and experience with budgeting and spend management
Attention to detail
Flexibility to adapt to a variety of situations and tasks
Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Preferred (some or all a plus)
Prior finance or accounting experience
Prior Cisco product knowledge (general understanding of networking technologies and Cisco products)
Proficiency with database tools (Microsoft Access, Oracle, Essbase, Sybase)
Prior experience with MRM (Siebel Analytics)
Specific responsibilities include:
Manage and be accountable for budget and spending plans
Provide budget and expense reporting for the leadership team and provide guidance on financial processes, timing, and corporate requirements
Maintain and update spending in Marketing´s MRM tool
Assist creating and submitting Statements of Work (SOWs) and purchase requisitions (PRs)
Work with the Accounts Payable to resolve payment issues.
Assist Marketing Finance with month-end and quarter-end accruals and close.
Develop, track and report key business metrics to measure the group´s ability to meet targets and objectives
Implement process, system and tool improvements that enable the group to be a more effective, productive marketing organization
Assist with processes benefiting the entire team, including HR activities, group calendaring, meeting logistics, etc.
