[KITlist] UI/UX Designer (Silicon Valley, CA)

Successful and well-funded start-up that is disrupting our industry is looking a Senior UX/UI Designer to be a vital member of the team in designing major new features and ongoing improvements to our web application and marketing website.

If you want to be part of something great … are adept at distilling complex design challenges into intuitive, simple and compelling user interfaces that provide an easy to use user experience. And if you are at ease visualizing an experience in the abstract and then being able to drive that vision into solid design deliverables, this position may be for you.

What you´ll be doing:

- Working with marketing, product management, engineering and other stakeholders across the company to create designs
- Creating wireframes, schematics, process maps, feature lists, mockups, visual specification, working prototypes and other artifacts to describe the intended user experience.
- Working on new features and functionality and suggesting improvements to other areas of the website based on user feedback
- Providing thorough documentation describing the requirements and flow for the given feature or enhancement.
- Contributing to the overall look and feel of the brand through clean, efficient use of web standards and optimization
- Applying graphic design principles including layout, typography, and color theory with strong skills in information hierarchy.

The skills and qualities you have:

- 5+ years experience designing both marketing and product web-based interfaces
- Experience working on large, complex sites that are consumer-centric
- Proven ability to be flexible and work hard in a challenging and fast-growing environment
- Strong command of visual design capabilities, including composition, layout information hierarchy, typography and color.
- Sound knowledge of Photoshop/Fireworks, and knowing your way around the rest of the Creative Suite
- Experience in Agile/Scrum methodology
- Can work both independently and in a group, without daily management
- Can-do attitude and willingness to step out of your comfort zone to get the job done
- Experience in the investing or personal finance space is a big plus
- Enjoys startup environments
- Familiarity with HTML is a plus
- Bachelors Degree
