Shutterfly is recruiting a Senior Associate of Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting. This position is a key member of the Financial Accounting / SEC Reporting team at Shutterfly, and will assist in all technical accounting research and its application to both internal and external reporting. This position offers the successful applicant the opportunity to leverage an extensive background of technical accounting and SEC reporting with the intensity and dynamics of a high-growth e-commerce company. This position will report to the Manager, Technical Accounting.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of external financial reporting documents, including 10Q´s, 10K's and 8K´s.
Assist in ensuring compliance with SEC and GAAP reporting requirements including evaluating the impact of recent and proposed pronouncements on SEC reporting.
Assist with the XBRL process.
Prepare data and other support information requests as needed for audits and reviews conducted by external auditing firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Participate in the earnings release process including review financial information in earnings release and script.
Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley requirements are met for relevant areas (e.g. disclosure controls).
Act as a technical accounting resource for the company by assisting with researching and documenting accounting issues, as well as application to the general ledger group.
Assist business operators and FP&A to understand budget implications and implement planning strategy for accounting issues.
Provide accounting and finance support for M&A transactions.
Assist with stock-based compensation accounting.
Other special projects as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA preferred.
3-5 years of relevant experience, Big 4 public accounting firm experience preferred.
Overall understanding and application of GAAP and SEC/financial reporting requirements including financial statements and financial statement footnotes.
Demonstrate clear proficiency in SEC reporting requirements and accounting research.
Detail oriented, analytical, and self-motivated
Ability to manage critical deadlines.
Ability to work cross-functionally
