[KITlist] Marketing Assistant, Social Enterprise (Berkeley, CA)

Job Responsibilities
The marketing assistant is responsible for supporting the marketing team in successfully implementing marketing communications activities, including events, public relations, marketing collateral materials, website, media assets and social media programs. This is a full-time role, reporting to the head of mar-keting. Primary responsibilities include:
• Managing a calendar of events,
• Preparing "travel kits" for events – to include collateral materials, signage, product samples, USB drives of digital collateral materials, etc.,
• Providing support for speaking opportunities, conferences, events, etc.
• Helping organize digital media assets (e.g., stories, images, videos, logos of One World Futbol and its partners),
• Tracking and managing collateral inventory,
• Under the direction of PR management, updating media lists and scheduling meetings with members of media,
• Tracking marketing deliverables (e.g. delivery schedules for content under development), helping to identify schedule dependencies and alerting the team to potential delivery schedule glitches,
• Checking press proofs of printed materials,
• Proofreading written materials.

Additional responsibilities may include:
• Researching social, cultural, political and economic background of countries to be visited by OWFP management and preparing a "backgrounder" for upcoming trips,
• Assisting in social media outreach and community engagement,
• Collaborating with other members of the marketing team to generate ideas for how to achieve our marketing objectives,
• Copywriting of collateral materials, blog posts, social media, website and other marketing out-reach.

Skills and Experience
The marketing assistant will have:
• 1-3 years' experience in a related field,
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in communications or other liberal arts subject,
• strong written and oral communications skills,
• project management aptitude,
• proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google equivalents
• experience with file sharing services (such as Google Drive, Basecamp, Dropbox or similar).

The following skills are preferred, but not required:
• familiarity with social media (preferred),
• fluency in a second or third language in addition to English.

The successful candidate should be:
• extremely organized and detail-oriented,
• able to juggle many different, and sometimes competing, priorities,
• a team player, able to work well with others and pitch in where needed,
• curious and eager to learn,
• sensitive to differences in cultures across the globe,
• forthright.
