Purpose: Lead, plan, direct, and coordinate human resource management activities of our organization to maximize the strategic use of human resources. The HR Manager develops, recommends, implements and reviews, business processes, policies, training, and programs for all human resources functions. This includes compensation, employee relations, organizational development, staffing, safety and talent management. The candidate will be a member of the plant senior leadership team, and must have the ability to operate at a business unit level. Job Responsibilities:

 

•The HR Manager is a key member of the leadership team for the manufacturing facility and, in conjunction with the other leaders, is responsible for building the organizational capabilities to create a high performance culture, and to meet and exceed the business unit''s financial objectives. Align HR processes and decision making with business strategy and provide operational flexibility and efficiency. Facilitate and enable the achievement of corporate values and mission.

•Facilitates a positive working relationship between management and the employees. Champions plant morale improvement through positive employee relations, activities, communications and management presence to ensure union free work place. Maintains a positive HR reputation and ensures excellent customer service.

•Ensures compliance with federal, state and local employment laws, as well as Corporate and plant policies and procedures. Ensures employees communicated policies and are informed about policy changes.

•Advises and coaches management team on HR matters. Investigates and assists management in the resolution of difficult situations in the plant.

•Assists plant management in preparing plant for audits to ensure passing scores.

•Counsels management on disciplinary procedures to ensure appropriate and fair disciplinary action is administered that will prevent legal ramifications

•Analyzes compensation of outside market to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements. Conducts wage surveys within labor market. Oversees the evaluation, classification and rating of hourly positions.

•Counsels managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend needed changes.

•With management, administers the hiring process for salaried positions. Reviews qualifications of potential candidates and facilitates interview process. Makes job offers for salaried positions.

•Manages and communicates employment, compensation, benefits and employee relations activities and coordinates work activities in support of the organization''s and/or human resources objectives. Oversees annual performance reviews and works with plant management in setting of goals and objectives.

•Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.

•Administer compensation, benefits, performance management systems and safety programs.

•Analyzes statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization''s personnel policies and practices.

•Analyzes training needs to design associate development, language training and health and safety programs. Coordinates ongoing training activities among individuals and teams to achieve organization''s goals and objectives.

•Ensures HR staff maintains the integrity of Enterprise/ADP and E-time attendance data.

•Prepares reports for location and corporate offices.

•Contracts with and serves as liaison to outside suppliers to provide services such as food services, employment agencies, uniforms, safety shoes, etc.

•Coordinates plant safety programs including the promotion of safety programs, training, celebrations.

•Ensures compliance with Company safety policies and OSHA regulations. Leads safety meetings, maintain safety records and completes OSHA 300 log.

•Manage Worker''s Compensation program including filing claims, record keeping, contact with insurance company and medical providers. Conducts accident investigations and implements accident prevention plans.

•Provides effective business solutions to HR challenges. Prepares and follows budgets for human resources operations.

•Maintain HR processes and decision making that are legally compliant, promotes profitable growth and supports CSM''s desired culture and financial targets.

•Work with other leaders to create an engaged and high performance employee base, free of third party intervention.

•Other duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills

Skills/Work Experience:

 

•PHR or SPHR Certification preferred

•Broad knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, and training and development

•Solid knowledge of business fundamentals including financial and operational elements

•Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

•Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)

•Excellent problem solving and decision making skills

•Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills

•High level of confidentiality.

•Able to work in a production area with fast moving equipment, moderate to high noise levels and intermediate temperature changes.

•Can think creatively.

•Friendly and caring personality.

•Ability to shift priorities on a very short notice.

•Available 24 hours per day if emergencies arise.

•Able to work any shift schedule.

•In depth knowledge of the HR field.

•Ability to work in and develop a high performance, high involvement, and results oriented work culture.

Required Experience

Education / Skills: Bachelor''s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration required. Minimum10+ years professional industry experience required.
