The Staff System Design Engineer is an elite member of a rapid growing, highly motivated team, that will develop the next-generation of inspection products and further enhance DCG Systems' leadership in the market. The ideal candidate will be a creative innovator that is able to design complex systems to solve our customers challenging yield insufficiencies as they push all boundaries with leading edge technologies.
This role will offer a broad interdisciplinary background, with experience in semiconductor capital equipment systems. In addition to the engineering development team this individual will work with various teams, (i.e. management, sales, marketing, applications development within the company to understand and decipher customer and market-driven requirements to ensure a common understanding of system requirements. This individual must be able to provide a complete, unambiguous statement of requirements and provide traceability of the customer requirements to system requirements, as well as validation testing.
The Staff System Design Engineer will produce block diagrams and high-level designs, as well as provide technical support in sales presentations, product demonstrations and technical presentations to various management levels, both internal and external. This position will design and develop system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. This will require the coordinating the design of subsystems along with leading the integration of the total system.
As the lead technical resource for the Vice President and General Manager of the Product Group, the Staff System Design Engineer will assist with the project management and project design in the work breakdown structure and help define project resource needs and timelines.
The Staff System Design Engineer will support detail design activities through review of specification documents, participate in design reviews, review of manuals and technical instructions, and take an active role in risk analysis, defect identification, and bug fixes. This position identifies, analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies, and develops and recommends corrective actions.
The Staff System Design Engineer will own and oversee the development of the system integration plan that maps out how multi-disciplinary elements of the system will be joined to form an initial product. This individual will define the testing requirements to ensure that the design has been achieved and meets the requirements. They will lead the engineering staff in the development of specific integration test protocols and participate in the execution of those tests.
Requirements and Qualifications
Required:
· A Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent with 8+ years of
industry experience in the Semiconductor Capital Equipment industries.
· Experience architecting at least one major product that has been
successful in the market.
· Experience in system design incorporating optical systems, precision
motors, pattern recognition, and/or signal processing.
- Fluent in English, must have strong oral and written communication
· Skills.
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others.
· Strong knowledge of system-level design and operations.
· Planning, prioritization, problem solving, and organizational skills.
· Perseverance. Pursues everything with energy, drive, and a need to finish;
seldom gives up before finishing, especially in the face of resistance or
setbacks.
· Excels in a fast-paced, fluctuating, goal-driven environment.
· Proficient computer skills using MS-Office.
Preferred:
· An advanced degree in Engineering
· Experience in Semiconductor Failure Analysis (FA) and/or Inspection
Systems.
