The Role: Vice President of Quality and Manufacturing Engineering
The Location: Northern Los Angeles
A leading microelectronics manufacturing company located in Northern Los Angeles is looking for an experienced Vice President of Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to join their leadership team.
The Vice President of Quality and Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for overseeing every aspect of quality and manufacturing at our facilities. This includes production quality, supplier quality, equipment, and the manufacturing process. They will be responsible for the management of their team, strategic planning, improvement activities (including quality and manufacturing efficiencies), cost reduction of machinery and equipment, process development of new products, and decreasing the up-time for equipment. This person will need to be hands on and willing to get on the production floor and help. This is not a management from afar position.
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field (preferably mechanical, industrial or electrical engineering)
At least fifteen years of principled engineering work with at least five of those years excelling in a senior management role with oversight of engineers, equipment, processes, and suppliers
Track record of progressive advancement
Strong understanding of LEAN concepts and applications with commitment to "hands-on" and active leadership on the production floor
Direct manufacturing process experience in a micro-electronics facility
Direct Department of Defense manufacturing experience in an organization that is using something that is MIL-PRF audited
AS-9100 and AS-9000 experience (including audit)
Direct experience creating the strategic direction and process development (from a product manufacturing perspective) of new products
