The Performance Test Engineer ensures ongoing and optimal system performance through testing, analysis and reporting of testing scenarios results, and provides consultation to the technology team to resolve issues and [proactively reduce production incidents. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Designs and develops application performance load tests based on application requirements. Records parameterizes and debugs LoadRunner scripts. Designs and sets up test scenarios in The Controller. Prepares test data and conducts performance load test execution. Analysis and assesses performance risks through load test results. Monitors test results and reports using analysis tools. Assists systems, database, developmental and network teams to quantify their capacity needs proactively based on analysis. acts as a performance consultant to the technology and development teams. Makes recommendations on application design. Documents test procedures, analysis and results. Proposes and implements process improvements. Performs other duties as required. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS - Knowledgeable in automated application testing and application performance testing concepts in a Windows-based environment.
- Knowledge of commercial load testing tools, especially HP LoadRunner.
- Knowledge of LoadRunner functions is a plus.
- Proficient in some of the following: C++, XML or .Net coding.
- Strong analytical skills required.
- Ability to identify performance issues in applications is critical.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to be successful in a fast-paced environment with multiple and changing priorities.
- Must be able to work well in a team-based environment..
