AgBio Sales Specialist (Req. 5015)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Develops drives and manages all AgBio genotyping business in partnership with other GT specialists. Role will cross multiple geographical sales territories and may extend into international relationships and opportunity management in concert with non-US based specialists. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining accurate sales forecasts for Ag market, implementing sales strategies. Critically, the AgBio specialist will develop and nurture KOLs and new prospects, and tailor sales´ approach to commercial and non commercial AgBio opportunities and the needs of seed and livestock markets.

Accountabilities and KPI´s:

• To achieve AgBio revenue quota for region and international where applicable
• To achieve growth target quota for region
• To gain, retain and expand Key Opinion Leader (KOL) involvement and engagement
• To achieve territory profit target
• To achieve territory customer retention target
• To achieve territory customer conquest targets


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Primary Responsibilities:
• Create and present the quarterly forecast for the business
• Direct the growth of business by capturing new accounts/business
• Direct the generation and qualification of sales leads to expand sales opportunities
• Create and maintain relationships with customers to promote penetration, retention and loyalty
• Assist in identifying and mitigating competitive barriers to increasing sales
• Responsible for providing market intelligence which influences the direction of organization
• Along with the other Genotyping specialists provides a framework for the development of the global AgBio business for Affymetrix.
• Develops team working with internal and external customers
• Prioritizes projects and resources based on business strategies
• Leads and works effectively with cross-functional teams and wider genotyping and sales teams.
• Identify and nurture KOL´s to enable Affymetrix to be involved in sales opportunities early

Competence Requirements: Required Preferred
Education: Bachelors, Preferred Masters
Yrs of related experience: 5-8 years professional 8-10 years professional
Competencies: (skills, knowledge, abilities)

• Extensive knowledge of GT and SNP-based technologies
• Results oriented,
• Proven track record of success in primary sales role
• Highly refined Sales and Account Management Skills
• Experience in coordinating strategy in complex sales situations
• Deep and recent knowledge of the AgBio market, KOLs, and competition
• Proven experience and success in closing genotyping deals
• Experience in large deal delivery (>$500K)
• Deep understanding of SNP-based technologies
• Highly results oriented
• Proven track record of success in primary sales role
• Highly refined Sales and Account Management Skills
• Experience in coordinating strategy in complex sales situations of deals
