Total Rewards Director
Location: Burlington, VT
The Director of Total Rewards is responsible for leading the organization's benefits, compensation, HRIS, employee health and injury prevention and wellness programs. The Director strategically directs, develops and implements comprehensive total reward programs that align with the company's strategic objectives while supporting our culture, maintaining competitive positioning in the market, and ensuring legal and contractual compliance. Through collaboration with leadership throughout the organization, this position also ensures that our reward systems, injury prevention programs and employee wellbeing initiatives help drive performance, talent acquisition, engagement and retention across all levels of the organization The incumbent will work closely with members of the Human Resources leadership team to create a customer focus that is responsive to the needs of our leaders, staff and physicians and ensure effective and efficient operations and HR systems.
• Extensive knowledge and proven experience working in the employee benefits field, including strategic planning and program design, budget forecasting, cost benefit analysis, administration, vendor management and communications.
• Extensive knowledge and proven experience in salary planning and administration at both staff and executive level, including tools and best practices.
• Strong customer service orientation. Lead through ability to demonstrate collaboration, positive interpersonal skills and a desire to do the right thing for our patients and our employees.
• Ability to influence diverse groups to develop rapport, credibility, and consensus.
• Excellent research, analytical, planning and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop recommendations
• Ability to effectively and appropriately present information to all levels of employees..
• Thorough understanding of HR practices and principles, including knowledge of applicable state and federal laws associated with the administration of all total rewards programs.
• Negotiation/vendor management skills.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related business area.
• Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) or other relevant professional certification is strongly preferred and required within first 18 months of position.
• SPHR is preferred.
• Seven or more years of Employee Benefits and Compensation experience.
• Progressive management experience in a complex healthcare environment leading a team of Human Resources professionals.
• Five or more years of increasing responsibilities in the management of total reward programs HR systems.
• Track record demonstrating the ability to improve HR systems and enhance operational efficiency.
