We are seeking a dynamic Vice President of Sales to drive revenue and acquire new customers. The successful candidate will have proven consultative selling experience in marketing and communications consulting services comprised of solutions, programs, and resources to Corporate Marketing organizations. This leadership role will be responsible for developing their own account base and managing Sales and Account teams.
The successful candidate will bring established business contacts, develop and implement a sales plan to meet revenue goals, motivate, educate, and mentor Sales and Account teams, attend new business meetings, help identify new business opportunities and close business. This position reports directly to the CEO and will work directly with Marketing, Talent Acquisition, and Operations teams to ensure success.
Specific responsibilities include:
* Bring established business connections to the table and identify new sales opportunities with potential accounts in the Fortune 500-10,000 market segment
* Develop and deliver a sales strategy to maximize revenue in designated target market(s), including: forecasting, lead generation, active prospecting, cold calling, networking, virtual and face-to-face sales presentations and client meetings
* Provide strong, innovative, inspiring, effective leadership and mentorship to Sales and Account teams while nurturing Account Executives in the development, delivery and management of major accounts
* Build professional and trusting relationships with clients and potential clients from the foundation of a clear understanding of client requirements followed by flawless setting and managing of client's expectations throughout the sales process
* Collect and communicate market feedback to company leadership regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs and consulting/services development needs
* Utilize Salesforce.com to provide detailed rollup of weekly forecast funnels of identified and proposed opportunities in order to meet or exceed sales quota requirements
Skills:
* Required: 10+ years of sales experience with success in selling marketing and communications consulting services into the high tech sector
* Required: Knowledge of the functions within a marketing organization and/or experience selling new business for consulting/services agencies
* Required: Understanding of relationship based selling and an existing network of contacts that could be converted to clients
* Required: Good relational soft skills and diplomacy for mentoring account teams; ability to nurture sales and account teams on how to create, manage and deepen customer and consultant relationships through consistent connection and problem solving
* Business savvy with broad business and sales management knowledge and experience; a problem solver who understands industry best practices for creating a strong revenue-generating team
* Solid track-record of developing new client business with a marketing communication services "product"; experience with sourcing and placing consulting resources/teams preferred
* Demonstrated major account success in a direct sales role, with examples of the sales approach you employ and proof sources of client growth, client satisfaction and long term consultative client relationships
* Deep expertise in selling services into marketing, events, and communications organizations, bringing experience and credibility to Crawford Group's presence and subject matter expertise to create peer-to-peer client meetings
* Entrepreneurial approach combined with results orientation including tenacity and a persuasive communication style. A track record of progressive achievement and confidence gained from prior success in a new business and commission based sales role is a prerequisite to success
* Self-directed, self-learner ready to hit the ground running
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* A solid familiarity with online business applications, Salesforce.com and the Microsoft Office Suite are minimum requirements
* BA/BS in Business or related field
Pay: Base salary plus commissions, D.O.E, w2 as a full time employee of Crawford Group
Hours/duration: Monday-Friday, standard business hours; full time employment. No phone calls, please; Local SF Bay Area candidates only.
Location: Mix of various client offices/locations for sales meetings plus some onsite at Crawford Group office in Campbell, CA
