Our client is currently looking to fill an Electrical Estimator position within the Yakima, WA area (relocation assistance available). The Electrical Estimator prepares cost estimates by analyzing proposals and requirements, reporting directly to the Director of Estimation and Engineering. Candidates with General Contractor experience and a concentration in Electrical Estimating will be highly considered for this position.
Responsibilities:
� Is accountable for the estimates he or she produces.
� Is responsible for preparing and achieving their annual estimation objectives.
� Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
� Consult with clients, vendors, and personnel in other departments or foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
� Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
� Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors
� Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
� Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
� Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
� Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
� Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
� Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
� Maintains cost database by entering and backing up data.
� Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
� Presents applicable estimates to the Bid Review Committee prior to bidding.
� Is responsible for the project job handoff process.
Skills/Qualifications:
� Bachelor�s degree preferred
� Experience with a large corporation (Fortune 500) a plus
� 3+ years experience as an Electrical Estimator with projects larger than $1M
� Must have solid computer skills and experience on some of the major estimating software packages
� Must have the ability to create conceptual bids for Design/Build projects
� Ability to establish timelines and budgets
� Solid communication, both verbal and written
