[KITlist] Part-time Executive Director for Musical Non-profit (Silicon Valley, CA)

The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the organization's consistent achievement of its Vision/Mission and financial objectives. This job is approximately 10-20 hours per week. We can pay on either a W2 or 1099 basis. No benefits available at this time.

Responsibilities:

* Assure a long-range strategy exists for the organization to achieve its mission, while continuing to make consistent and timely progress
* Manage and provide leadership of the Executive Staff, including constant and consistent communication
* Develop program and organizational plans with the Board of Directors and Staff, and carry out the program plans and policies authorized by the Board
* Track plans and goals in accordance with plan outlines
* Promote active and broad participation by volunteers in all areas of the organizations' work.
* Maintain official records and documents, and ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
* Represent the organization and its values to other organizations, and the general public
* Develop, maintain, and support a strong board of directors; serve as ex-officio of each committee, seek and build board involvement with strategic direction for both ongoing local operations as well as for the national rollout
* Ensures The Choral Project is run in accordance with policies and procedures and operational plans that support the Vision Statement
* Expand local revenue generating and fundraising activities to support existing program operations and regional expansion while simultaneously retiring building debt
* Deepen and refine all aspects of communications—from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand
* Design the national expansion and complete the strategic business planning process for the program expansion into new markets
*Build partnerships in new markets, establishing relationships with the funders and political and community leaders

Qualifications

All candidates should have proven leadership, coaching and relationship management experience. Concrete demonstrable experience and desireable qualifications include:

* Bachelor's Degree and/or graduate degree with a major in related field
* A minimum of five years experience in arts administration, directing a business firm or nonprofit agency involving supervision of diverse staff and management of significant funds
* Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation
* Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget
* Past success working with a board of directors with the ability to cultivate existing board member relationships
* Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures
* Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
* Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning
* Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
* Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed
