The Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC) is seeking a full-time Best Practices Project Manager to further our work with the New Americans Citizenship Collaboration (NACC) partners to understand and to proliferate metrics and best practices throughout the partnership in support of the NACC´s goals: All will be workings together to ensure each site is successful in helping as many lawful permanent residents apply for naturalization as possible while encouraging and sharing the development of best practices and innovative methods of service delivery.
The ILRC is a national nonprofit legal support center located in San Francisco, California. Founded in 1979, we specialize in immigration law, policy, and immigrants´ rights. The ILRC´s work concentrates on three main program areas: (1) building the capacity of attorneys, paralegals, organizers, service providers, immigrants, and others by providing legal technical assistance, trainings, and publications; (2) assisting immigrants with civic engagement projects to help expand immigrants´ rights and political power; and (3) conducting policy and advocacy work related to immigration law and immigrant rights.
We are a team-based organization that makes most of its decisions in a collaborative fashion that allows for significant staff input.
Job Responsibilities:
The Best Practices Project Manager reports to and supports the work of the ILRC´s NACC Project Director and staff team, and will primarily be charged with managing the collection and reporting of metrics to measure progress against the NACC´s goals. S/he will be responsible for collecting, analyzing and presenting the metrics in order to facilitate assessment, best practices sharing and decision making. Duties include:
-Facilitate the development of reasonable and useful metrics to guide the work of NACC partners toward completion of project goals, encourage innovative practice, promote the sharing of ideas and approaches, and document success.
-Manage the ongoing collection of metrics data from NACC partners, including supporting partner ability to gather and submit data.
-Collaborate with site coordinators in each city to gather community-level information and direct coordination between partners.
-Analyze partner approaches and metrics data to identify best practices.
-Communicate findings internally amongst the partners and funds, and externally with the filed including visiting the organizations, documenting innovative processes and technology, sharing those learnings with the other partners through meetings, tool kits, calls or white papers.
-Provide administrative support for the Director and NACC partner convening, meetings, and communications.
Requirements:
-A bachelor´s degree plus five to eight years of experience.
-Regular travel to the NACC sites and meetings is required.
-Experience in applied research and / or evaluation is important.
-Experience in program management is a plus.
This position is based in San Francisco. The NACC is in its pilot year, and has been fully funded through 2012. The continuation of this position is contingent on project-related funding.
Required Skills:
The successful candidate will have demonstrated the following skills:
-Ability to develop, document and communicate project time lines and processes and to manage geographically and organizationally dispersed stakeholders through them;
-Work effectively with data and tools for data analysis;
-Manage a learning network including facilitating the sharing of best practices and compiling tool kits, resources, etc.;
-Excellent oral and written communication skills, including facilitation skills and the ability to communicate complex data, findings and ideas clearly;
-Knowledge management experience, and familiarity with online community technology platforms preferred.
