Crawford Group (www.crawfordgroup.com) is seeking Communications Consultant for a six-month contract to develop and implement internal communications strategies and programs for our clients' Design Team. The Communications Consultant will focus on crafting a Design narrative that is credible, compelling, and connects emotionally with key internal audiences including members of the Design Team, employees worldwide and recruits.<br /><br /> The Consultant will work closely with our clients' internal stakeholders to create an all-encompassing strategy to keep Design team and other global employees informed and engaged on the Design team's strategy, plans and successes. Reporting to and working closely alongside the Head of Design Operations, the Communications Consultant supporting Design will be responsible for driving the Design team's internal communications plan. The Communications Consultant will align with our clients' Sr. Manager of Global Employee Communications on plans and execution. <br /><br /> The ideal consultant is a communications professional (strong written, verbal, presentation skills) with an understanding of designers/ creatives: What they do, how to communicate with them, then share this teams' value add to internal audiences in the most engaging way possible. <br /><br /> Responsibilities:<br /><br /> Develop and implement a global communications plan for the roll-out of Design programs and experiences<br /><br /> Interface with internal SMEs to pull out the most interesting angles to a story, then craft it into a a variety of employee-¬facing Design communications vehicles, including Design blogs, emails, web content, etc. <br /><br /> Work closely with the Design leadership team to communicate the Design story with a consistent tone and voice, capturing the essence of design innovation that is transforming the face of the company <br /><br /> Leverage existing communication channels and create new vehicles to effectively communicate the Design story<br /><br /> Write the principles, process and guidelines on how to work successfully with the Design team which will be shared with all business partners within the company who need Design support<br /><br /> Educate Recruiters on the Design narrative to help them clearly communicate the vision and opportunities within the Design team<br /><br /> Develop a Global Design Team on¬boarding guide to welcome new Design team members to the group<br /><br /> Maintain and execute a proactive editorial calendar that keeps news from Design consistent for both Design team members and global employees<br /><br /> Measure efficacy of communications by identifying benchmarks around employee engagement and reporting on results monthly. Examples include surveys, focus groups, number of views, comments, likes, shares, sentiment and response from employees.<br /><br /> Skills:<br /><br /> 7- 10 years' combined internal/employee/corporate communications/marcom experience (B2C a strong plus) <br /><br /> Prior experience working in a creative agency, design firm or a consumer publishing company in a global setting a plus<br /><br /> Prior experience working in or interfacing heavily with a marketing organization, creative services or design team a plus<br /><br /> Change or rebranding communications experience a plus (people, business transformation) <br /><br /> Excellent communication skills: Written, verbal and presentation<br /><br /> Ability to transition between strategy development and execution seamlessly<br /><br /> Excellent copywriter/editor who can concisely communicate various types of news to drive employee engagement. Must excel at messaging, content development and creative storytelling. <br /><br /> Experience working across various communication platforms including print and digital.<br /><br /> Ability to create new and innovative ways to communicate with employees that reflect the Design Team's culture<br /><br /> Familiarity with tools and processes used for managing and monitoring internal communications <br /><br /> Metrics experience; will partner with other communications teams on internal employee engagement results <br /><br /> Strong ability to build relationships and influence at all levels<br /><br /> Thrives and leads in a dynamic and fast-paced environment<br /><br /> Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint<br /><br /> BS/BS degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or Journalism<br /><br /> RATE: D.O.E. as a W-2 employee of Crawford Group <br /><br /> LOCATION: Onsite at client's offices in Newark, CA. <br /><br /> HOURS/DURATION: Part-time, 24 hours per week, schedule flexible within standard business hours.
