Director of Global Talent Acquisition

You are responsible for providing overall leadership to the team that drives Couchbase's success by bringing top talent into our company. In this role you will report to the VP of People and you will be responsible for all recruiting activities across the globe. The Director of Global Talent Acquisition will create and drive the strategy for talent acquisition, focusing on building our employer brand, creating a top-notch candidate experience, interviewer training, diversity hiring, building internship and graduate programs, establishing consistent hiring metrics, creating sourcing strategies, career fairs, etc. You will work with functional leaders and hiring managers to develop a collaborative partnership for all recruiting activities and to create an exceptional candidate experience. You will be critical in helping to scale the company from a people perspective and all the hiring processes aligned with our growth plans, with a goal to maintain a high bar for the hiring process and the talent we bring into the organization. As a leader of the recruiting team, you will set an example for excellence and act as a mentor to your team.

Responsibilities:

Recruiting:

• Create, organize, and implement strategic recruitment plans and supporting initiatives to build the overall talent acquisition process and quality of hiring world-wide.

• Design, develop, communicate and implement an integrated staffing strategy (internal and external) and talent tracking process, with an emphasis on talent pipeline and feeder pool development to ensure meeting future workforce needs.

• Develop and implement competitive external/internal strategic programs to strengthen our employer brand and our ability to attract, assess, select and integrate an optimal blend of skills across all functional areas and deliver the desired results for top tier talent.

• Provide overall leadership for a team of recruiting professionals and act as a strong role model, providing mentorship and motivation for growth.

• Broad experience with executive hiring, both direct and through agencies and retained search. Able to drive search firms and internal leaders to sound decisions on top talent.

Recruiting Tools and Programs:

• Develop strategy for candidate sourcing by utilizing all available tools, including company website, social media, job boards, employee referrals, recruiting tools and agencies/others.

• Design and implement external candidate marketing and proactive recruiting programs and processes that attract, select and retain a qualified, diverse workforce through cutting edge technology and effective use of all social networking tools, as well as traditional sourcing techniques.

• Oversee company use of vendors and third-party agencies.

• Ensure appropriate use of metrics to gauge recruiting status including cost per hire, hiring cycle time, quality of hire, turnover, competitive hiring measures, and new hire engagement measures.

• Partner with Marketing team to develop and implement a recruiting communications media plan (traditional and social media) to communicate Couchbase as an employer of choice and highlight employer brand.

• Monitor company presence on social media as well as LinkedIn and GlassDoor to understand brand reception.

• Work closely with senior members of leadership to understand professional development needs and translate into actionable recruiting initiatives.

• Develop the university hiring and intern strategy.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred, 10+ years of recruiting experience, with a minimum of 5 years of people management. Global and tech experience required.

• Excellent project management, program management, negotiation and influencing skills.

• High levels of creativity, innovation and candidate needs assessment skills.

• Demonstrated experience in building recruiting functions at scale, with the ability to anticipate and get in front of potential roadblocks.

• Excellent business, marketing and quantitative acumen, using data and metrics to drive effectiveness in the recruiting process.

• Strong leadership skills, both direct and indirect. Ability to work well cross-functionally and influence across the organization at all levels.

• Innovative and creative in your approach to building an employment brand.

• Superb written and verbal communications.

• Attention to detail and excellent customer service focus.

• Team player mentality, proactive and willing to roll up sleeves to get the job done.
