Strategic Content Writer

The Sage Group (TSG) is seeking a Part-Time Strategic Content Writer with a strong business acumen that understands marketing today. We are looking for a strategic thinker that can create content for our CEO and Business Development executives to share with the Marketers that Matter® (MTM) community and The Sage Group's clients prospects. Deliverables will include creating content for presentations, case studies, articles and blogs.

This person will work closely with the MTM community (judges, council, finalists members) to highlight innovative marketing creating results as well as with TSG executives around topics related to marketing talent and what we're seeing in the marketplace.

This person will be responsible for:

Preparing the content for our annual Marketers that Matter Learnings presentation which includes five main themes with 3-5 robust case studies each, a summary of various HBR articles written by our CEO, and thought leadership as it relates to talent.



Supporting the Bay Area marketing community in preparing 2016 MTM applications including conducting interviews and writing initial draft applications as well as reviewing drafts from the community and providing relevant, helpful feedback.



Preparing content for various programmatic initiatives such as ongoing blogs and/or columns including participating in and/or conducting interviews.



Creating thought leadership content around marketing talent that The Sage Group can leverage with its prospects and clients to add value and create engagement.



Helping the company define its overall content marketing strategy that best leverages limited resources toward reaching its business goals for both MTM and The Sage Group.



Key skill/experience/capabilities include:

A proven track record of creating strategic content targeting senior and mid-level executives clearly illustrating your ability to tell a business story and think/write strategically.

Experience conducting background research, working with complex concepts, determining story structure and ultimately preparing clear, compelling high-impact content.

Ability to work cross-functionally internally and externally to collect necessary information from stakeholders and subject matter experts.

Ability to take key content and prep it for various channels/delivery mechanisms such as PowerPoint presentations, blogs, articles, social media, websites etc.

Ability to receive and respond to feedback that evolves the deliverable.

Experience working with C-level executives.

Highly organized, outstanding proofreading editing skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Team player with outstanding communication skills and a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves work ethic.

We are looking from someone to start ASAP. This will start as a 3 to 6 month contract that will most likely be a long term on-going need. We see this position being on average 20 hours per week, with some weeks as low as 10 hours and some as high as 30 depending upon deliverables. Approx. 2 days per week in our SOMA office, onsite for critical interviews and presentations throughout the Bay Area, and the rest from home.

Length: 3 to 6 Months with good possibility of extending longer
