Supply Chain Manager
Job Description:
You are the lead coordinator and voice of product shipping and receiving for a company on the verge of high growth. You will oversee the daily logistics functions and interface with internal and external supply chain functions/services. Packaging and shipping products range in weight from ½ lbs to weights limited only by the size of the packing container and ability of the recipient to handle them as well as products requiring specialized packing containers. This position requires the ability to develop packaging and packing standards ensure intact delivery of the product and optimize package/handling costs while achieving business KPIs. This is a management team level position with oversight of multiple onsite, offsite and virtual vendors.
Qualifications:
• Able to work cross-functionally with all other departments within the company in the following areas: Inventory Management, Customer Service, Business Operations, and Order Processing.
• Must be experienced using SAP for accounting, inventory and shipping procedures.
• Required skills include preparing, creating, and managing paperwork and system transactions in support of shipping, inventory, and customer service functions.
• Contains or reduces cost related to 3rd party fulfillment service providers.
• Responsible for evaluating business needs and identifying areas of cost optimization while meeting business KPIs. Must be capable of presenting research results and recommendations to all other stake holders clearly and concisely.
• Ensures freight forwarders are selected based on company objectives for cost and delivery.
• Schedules and coordinates both Domestic and International freight forwarder transactions.
• Responsible for managing product return processes with fulfillment agents and customers.
• Responsible for achieving attainment of KPIs related to shipping, inventory management and customer service/satisfaction.
• Prepares shipping procedure documentation, maintains records, and coordinates logistics for product shipment.
• Monitors inventory and item levels and sets cycle counts on a daily basis; forecasts sales based on inventory levels.
• Ensures sales receipts and returns are recorded accurately and timely in the inventory management systems.
• Manages the fleet (van R&M, insurance, licensing)
• Compiles with inventory valuation reports for insurance needs.
• Must be capable of using multiple inventories and accounting systems for collecting, analyzing, and developing reports providing KPI achievement results.
• Responsible for working with Customer Service to assist in resolving issues related to order fulfillment and shipping.
• 5 years' experience in direct packaging/handling role with management experience preferred.
During your interview(s):
Must be prepared to present how you have used data to document process improvement.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and have demonstrable skills in MS Excel and Office products.
Show familiarity in packing, sound judgment in container selection and packing materials depending on context (consumer parcel vs. conference/distributor pallet).
